Just curious, but since I'm a completionist and appreciate greatly having achievements and the sort, I'm wondering if a system should be implemented where us, the players, could help GoG by presenting ideas for achievements for certain games, and all they have to do is implement them.

But since I know nothing of how hard they can be or how easy, I also propose allowing players to create their own achievements for their games. For example, take Fallout 3. You could have a tab in the launcher where it'll say something like "Achievements: Add Yours!" or something like that, and you could select a difficulty and write out your own list of achievements for the game in question. The issue here is that I'm certain that this'll be hard to implement, but it'll be great in the long run.

Opinions?

P.S. On Steam some games, like Shadowrun: Dragonfall, have achievements whilst on GoG they don't. Does GoG add achievements later or not? I'm relatively new so I'm trying to get a better understanding, thanks!
As far as getting gOg-sold games to have achievements that already exist in Steam-sold games, a lot of that comes down to how the developer chooses to implement them. Steam has its API or whatever it's called, to make it easier for developers to fold in achievements - and other features - into the games that use the Steam client. Problem is, those features then get tied to the client. If the developer puts the achievements directly into the game itself then achievements can be store-agnostic and should show up when playing a game purchased here.

For now, I think it mostly comes down to the developer deciding to make these features work in both ecosystems: Steam and Galaxy. Or building them into the game itself, so it doesn't matter where you buy the game since the feature won't rely on an external client.
Yep HereForTheBeer is correct, devs add achievements... not GOG. So anything that they could add would be nothing more than a "Did I do this?"... and check mark that you have to check off. Actual achievements require integration with the game which GOG can't do without the source code.

_B0MB_: *snip*
We recently discussed this in the "Where are my save files?" thread where someone pointed back to a previous thread concerning GoG taking input from its customers.

It seems to be a gray area for them:

Granted that's more game data instead of game suggestions.

I know at least one game that initially didn't have achievements, but they were later added: Furi.
My hope is that with time all games that have them on steam will be updated on galaxy with their respective achievements.
By the way, is there a list of these games on the forum? It would be useful perhaps to try to contact the developers, now that GOG Galaxy has been updated and improved.

With regard to personalized achievements, as has been said, I don't think they are implementable, but maybe there is one simple thing that I would like to see: a kind of platinum achievement that attests the 100% completion of a game.
Something that you could add to GOG Galaxy without the intervention of the original developers of a game, but simply taking into account the completion of official achievements.

Or maybe some kind level feature that shows how many games we have 100%... maybe if we ever get profiles here.

I'm sure that sooner or later we will have our profiles in which to see all the achievements unlocked, it's a feature that is now available everywhere and I don't think they can ignore it forever.

The platinum achievement instead is something that also lacks on Steam if I'm not mistaken, and it would be something that differentiates them and makes GOG special. And the primary rule of the market is to differentiate and offer something unique. Being DRM-free is the key feature, but if they offer other features, they can only do well for their business.

I also think that some sort of badge should be introduced by completing 100% of the achievements of a game.

In steam there is an exhibitor where the percentage of achievements appears. Gog could do something similar.

Another option that has been asked a lot is to add points in the achievements.

That's right, another thing that should also do gog is add a GogWorkShop
