It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

GOGer: The 4GB split files for those who don't know is (was!) there, primarily, for FAT-32 file size limitation reasons. And they were good to have, and even now, especially for proper older games.
I feel your pain, but consider this:

a) A lot of (cheap) storage media are still pre-formatted with FAT32. Especially in the poorer countries (which get all the garbage the Western world doesn't want any more.
b) A lot of people here (and that includes "first world countries" like Germany and the US) are on really shitty internet connections. For those people a download failed at 3 GB of 4 is way less dramatic than a 40 GB failing at 30.

rbstego: I prefer the smaler files as backup. Easier to restart a failed download. I really do not want to leave my PC running für two or three days unsupervised when I am not home.

rtcvb32: And verifying they are in good condition is FAR faster.

Consider doing a MD5sum on a 80Gig file vs 20 4Gig files...

And replacing a single part is far easier too.
That. Yes.

Do the one file for those who want that, but keep the split files, too.

teceem: Failed downloads is only an issue when the website doesn't support resume. It doesn't shouldn't matter how big the downloads are. Assuming you're not using some ancient browser to download...
Starting a download and then going away from home / your PC for a couple of days sounds like a very personal situation. No company can/will cater to any personal preference out there.
If GOG ever changes the split files into one download, that will be it. They're not going to buy extra server space for people who liked the old system (not for new(er) games).
My personal situation? I have to go to work. I am not leaving any gadgets running while I am not home. So it would be stop and start and stop and start. Or something for the holidays.

I am not posting here to keep gog from changing things. I am posting so gog can see what a wider selection of users prefer.
Yeah, an option to download an entire game at once on browsers would be good.
70GB. Just saying.
