Why would CDPR's advertising be silly?

This is along the same lines as razor ads, it doesn't matter if they are doing loop-de-loops on a NASCAR track in the middle of the ocean and every historical king and emporer watches on, the kings shaving themselves commented how smooth the shave is much like the track.

Be serious.

There's going to be a huge number of CDPR fans who will buy the game regardless.
There's going to be a huge number of people who played Witcher 3 loved it and wil buy the game regardless
There's going to be a number of people who are tired of the yearly releases of EA football and Blizzards weak attempts at games, and go to a company that gives half a damn
There's going to be a number of people who want to give 100% to CDPR and not 70% while giving 30% to Epic or Valve.
There's going to be a ton of people who look at games with microtransactions, know it wants to milk you for thousands of dollars and they will drop $100 for a solid game with no hidden gimmicks.

Literally, the advertising only needs to say 'It's coming out' and that's all it needs as the name and idea of the game has been out for a while. Fast paced, slow paced, gender queer guys in posters selling soda, Keanu Reves slipping in some Bill & Ted adventures eastereggs as posters? Who cares? This is a game that was being hinted at back in 2014, and now it's coming out now that they got Witcher 3 done. And from how badly SJW's are complaining? Tells me it's good. And seeing good game reviewers who i don't think have sold out say it's good? I assume it's good.

Personally i salute and give the thumbs up for companies that are actually doing what they should be doing. And while no company will be controversy-free, I'd rather get a quality game that's complete, than an incomplete game with 10 different tiers of editions and collectors editions, micro-transaction-lootbox-daily-login-bullshit-cant-progress-without-10000-hours-of-grinding-or-pay-ten-dollar s-for-a-booster-while-franchise-is-milked-because-they-are-greedy added in.

midrand: You missed a great game if you haven't played Witcher 3. It's one of the best modern RPGs. Witcher 2 was mediocre and a bit linear in my view, but the third instalment is a great title. Great screenplay and writing as well - one that Cyberpunk will probably not beat.

pds41: I'm replaying W2 at the moment - really enjoying it and it still looks great. The original plan was to finish it and immediately start W3 (lost my old W2 end save game), but I've now parked starting W3 until the RTX patch comes out next year.
I really liked W1 for originality and W3 - W2 was a bit of a disappointment for me. That one felt more like an action adventure game. But glad you like it - certainly a better title than many others.

morolf: Thx, interesting. If I ever get a laptop than can run it and if it's on sale, I might buy it and try for myself :-) I wasn't the biggest fan of The Witcher 1, but the setting and characters were interesting (kind of fancied Triss...).
I think you will enjoy it if you liked W1. This is a much bigger game - probably 4-5 times bigger than W1 in terms of content / quests. It's more or less permanently on sale at GOG because it is now old news :)

My not so good laptop ran it in 25 FPS and low graphics settings and i managed just fine, though the venillators would make me go crazy.

I wouldn't say the systems are very interesting but the mere scope of the game is astonishing in every way. It's unbelievable how much detail went into everything. I think you would like it
