Eastern because Romania (where the Dacia cars were made- you know, back when Romania was communist and stuff...) is kinda to the east even in comparison to Greece, and "challenge" because apparently whoever made that commercial wanted to pass through the message that the Dacia cars were a worthy competitor to the west-european and american car brands, despite them being made on the other end of the iron curtain -and apparently this ad did its work, according to [url=http://bill-files.blogspot.com.cy/2014/01/t-3.html]this site that mentions that this particular ad caused many greeks to buy said car in the 80s, even though the Dacia model advertised was already outdated by then...

I knew that was Greek, but did not know what it said TBH, and thanks for your tidbit of information regarding that ad....was very interesting. I used google translate on the link you provided, and I am happy to say it actually worked quite well! :D
