GOG really needs to fix the issue of how different editions [normal/Kickstarter/pre-ordered/etc] of the same game are handled in the database. It's already pretty bad, and only going to get worse as time goes on.
Some of the issues:
* Reviews for one edition of the game don't appear on the game card for others.
* Buying a "superior" edition of a game doesn't mark lesser versions as owned, so sales (etc) can be confusing.
* Update notifications don't show up properly for the alternate editions of the games. (Update notifications in general need serious attention, but there are myriad other threads about that.)
* DLC as its own page has been a flaw since the beginning.
* Wishlist issues, such as buying one edition of a game doesn't remove others from your wish list or having different editions of the same game in your wishlist.
* Ability to "upgrade" from one edition to another is currently flawed. Sometimes one edition, andor another, andor the edition upgrade is on sale without others.
* Downloading and keeping track of these items are problematic as different editions (and various DLCs) go to different folders when downloaded with Downloader/Galaxy.
* In no way should soundtracks have their own separate "game card"!
* It's impossible to get proper counting for titles on GOG with the various ways things are numbered.
* Others I'm sure...
Not only are these of high importance for the customers, you'd think GOG would work on it to make their systems simpler and easier to maintain for themselves. I was really surprised it didn't move to this when the Galaxy/transaction history version of the site came live. I mean, ideally, pre-order/crowdfunded/deluxe editions of the game really could-should be handled by a single unified "DLC and add-ons for this one master product" issue. It'd also work [acceptably] for the unbundling that happened.
Hell, maybe it can even help fix the forums not checking to subscribe to new forums when you buy a game. ;)
