Hey there I bought the bundle about 2 days ago and I have noticed that I get 2 possible downloads.
Hammers of Fate and Tribes of the east seperately
There are two dlcs,
Hammers of Fate and
Tribes of the east

Apparently I can not play both at once? I went ahaed and downloaded the "hammers of fate"-version. I noticed that I couldnt play any "dwarf-like" race so I am not sure whether the dlc is activated on this version at all!

Looking forward to any advice. My goal is to be able to play both dlcs at once, when I bought the game I figured I'd be able to

Tribes of the East is a stand-alone expansion pack, ie. it is a game of its own. You don't play it with the original HOMM5.

Hammers of the Fate, however, appears to be an expansion pack that will be integrated to the main HOMM5 game, and in the GOG version it is already included in the HOMM5 download.

So no, I guess you can not play Tribes of the East "together" with the base HOMM5 game, sorry. Or to put it in another way: "No way, Jose.".

I think Tribes of the East is a standalone expansion. Hammers of Fate should be the one you're looking for. I think orcs are in the tribes, the rest should be playable in the hammers. But I do think that you have to finish the campaigns in order to be able to access the later campaigns.

The singleplayer storylines in the three games can be played separately, so you can start and progress through the base game, the Hammers game and the Tribes game all at the same time. However, within each game, the per-faction campaigns and missions are meant to be played sequentially.

Hammers of Fate uses a different executable than the base game, even if they are downloaded at the same time. Maybe you started the base game if you can't play with the dwarves.

Its a different executable. Are you using GoG Galaxy? If you are, in "HoMM5 + Hammer...", you can either press "play" for the base game, or go to "More > Other > HoMM5 Hammer" for the expasion (I just created a shortcut, it´s really annoying having to look there)

It´s weird indeed. I downloaded the base game + Hammer first, then the Tribes expansion, and for some reason Tribes started to download the base game right after with no input from me...I just cancelled it, and everything worked alright, but yeah, this game´s delivery is not entirely streamlined
