Lin545: I know this! And its been one of the worst experiences in my life!
In 2017 I was in Sochi at performance of "Totem Сirque du Soleil" with family and paid quite a lot of money to get places close to the center. What did I get - security people constantly starring in my face, constantly walking to confiscate people smartphones.
With live performances it's different(supposedly).....according to some I asked here and elsewhere(here via a thread on the topic here on GOG awhile back), it distracts from the performance to see rows of phones out taking video/pictures.
I disagree a bit when it comes to museums/etc.....it is a bunch of exhibits, NOT a live act, and people can take pictures of something then move on(allowing others to do the same).
IMO they should only take cameras from people in such cases or question those who are doing odd things like maybe taking pictures in weird places(to maybe "case" the locations to rob them, etc).
Aside/note: Did you know SOME here search people upon entering some venues and LOCK your phones in these silly little bags to prevent one from using them in the venues? It's insane.
Lin545: I don't get whats the problem. Why its not possible to get a QR code on existing ticket to get a reasonably priced download link to professionally filmed performance you just watched? The people would stop videoing, because there will be no more sense in doing it. Profit+Profit.
I agree with you about them giving a free link to a DL of a video of the performance....that way only they need to record once and could discourage(nicely) people from recording themselves. :)

Lin545: The other option is ofc drm, with its trusted/untrusted definitions. But here drm never means that some entity should have monopoly over the servers, but it looks like many publishers assume its advantageous for them to burry own servers as they wish it.
Like
Earth and Beyond(scifi star ship MMO)...it got canned ages ago due to not being as profitable...and it took several YEARS for people to make an emulator and private servers for it.
