budejovice: I have a client who is way way (way) up at EA, yet there is no possible way I could broach the GOG topic professionally... unfortunately. Been wanting to since he went there from a non-gaming, but well known, company a while ago.
That's fine, there's probably not much you could do anyway, and I assume the client wouldn't know who GOG is anyway. (Really, this is all GOG's job; we're just trying to nudge devs/pubs here.) Interesting to hear, though.

I doubt people in gaming business don't know who GOG are (them being one of the biggest digital distributors). Not only EA sell games through GOG already, but they are also a competitor (thus the conflict of interests). Business people in EA should know the playing field.

I sent an email to the dev last week and it was never answered. I haven't heard one way or the other, but I would guess not right now...

I just got a reply from their support:

Thank you so much for your interest in Firewatch!

Right now we're totally focused on making the Steam and PSN launch as smooth as we can make it, but once the dust settles we'll look for other opportunities when it comes to selling the game!
Looks like they can't handle releasing the game in many stores simultaneously (I can understand that for a small studio). Hopefully they'll get around to it.

Yeah, I was just doing some reading and that's about all I could find out anyways. I will hope to be able to play this in the future.
