Featuring developer commentary!

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, a dark RPG adventure set in the world of The Witcher, is coming out October 23rd on PC, exclusively via GOG.COM.

Today, developers CD PROJEKT RED released a brand new video showcasing a 37-minute long walkthrough from the game's first act. There's a healthy amount of story, exploration, and turn-based card battle combat for you to enjoy, all with commentary by Paweł Burza (Community Manager), who provides valuable insight into the world of Thronebreaker.

Pre-order Thronebreaker now on GOG.COM

Watch it here.

Well that looks like fun. Although I have never played card games I will prob give it a try. Hey it's the witcher boys....how bad can it be????
Great storytelling and voice acting! Thanks for this long preview!
The graphics seem weak, and lots of text, instead having a sense of engagement when dialog is occurring. Nonetheless, I will still purchase the game, just to support the Witcher series. Still hoping for a Witcher 4 someday!

Interesting, to see the knight errant in good health and how he neglected to mention the other colored beast while painting such an apt desciption of BTJ, lol...

Loger13: ... and make a new game in "World of Darkness" universe.
At least one is in the works, the IP is nowhere near dead. The time to rage is yet to come.

Linko90: Ah, another post in which you ignore facts to have a rant. I'm going to ask you one last time to refrain from your constant baiting and ignoring of common sense in order to have a little rant. It's tiresome, dull and unproductive.
A question equals to a rant to you? How about you answer it, straight and to the point, regardless of how baity and/or ranty it may seem to you instead of threatening the user?

i_hope_you_rot: So how many Gog employee are working on this game instead of fixing the website / forum , adding more old titles to the catalog , quality testing the games before their release date or negotiating better deals with the publishers ?

GOG and CDPR are separate entities even though CDPR owns GOG. So the question is kindof pointless.

this is the first time I see Gwent... I do not understand how to actually play LOL... Maybe I will take a look at this game when I will play the witcher 3.

Hickory: How many GOG employees? None. GOG doesn't make games, it sells them.
Not technically true in this case.
I'm sure there is an interview or article somewhere that goes further into it, but GOG have a direct hand in making Gwent (and I presume Thronebreaker, but I'm not really sure). From what I can find it seems to be mainly the backend stuff (i.e. Galaxy type things) but they are still GOG staff working on it rather than CDPR staff.

Scroll down to the Design & Art section of the jobs page and you'll see they are still hiring for Gwent related positions;

None.
The GOG staff working on Gwent were specifically employed to work on Gwent, and the staff employed to work on the website or get new/old games are specifically employed to do that.

THIS GAME. THIS GAME. That was what the poster said that I replied to. GOG are working on the online version because of Galaxy:

"Together with CD PROJEKT RED, we’re hard at work bringing PC and console gamers the best possible online experience with GWENT: The Witcher Card Game."

Which is fair enough, but why then are they hiring Illustrators and Game Designers? Presumably they are working on more than just the backend, and if they are working on the actual game then presumably some of that is being reused in this game.

So they are working on THIS game. Or at least they would appear to be judging by the part they play in making the online version.

The main character is a Woman. Also, please try to stick to English so users can understand and engage with you!

Pure supposition. Regardless, the essense of my initial statement is true. GOG do not make games.
A warrior queen's revenge. A thing to ponder about.

A fair question: how is the price (of 25.89 EU) calculated?

Note: I've just pre-ordered the game. I hope it gets a Linux port or is Wine-friendly.
