Oh, hello there :) Does anyone have any tips on grabbing screenshots from games 'on the fly', so to speak?

I run a blog and need screenshots for reviews and features. With emulators and Steam games, there is usually a shortcut key I can map to my controller but there doesn't seem to be an equivalent for game bought from here. I even tried running one through Steam but the F12 shortcut didn't work.

My laptop has that Xbox game pad dashboard thing and I've tried mapping that to my controller which didn't work, and I can't use the 'Alt+Printscreen' option as apparently printscreen can't be mapped to my controller.

I'm out of ideas - does anyone have any tips or info? Many thanks!
If you're running GOG Galaxy and a game supports the Galaxy overlay, F12 will capture a screenshot.

Many games have their own built-in screenshot ability -- often F12 or PRNT SCN.

Finally, you could run a graphics utility like MSI Afterburner or GeForce Experience which includes screenshot capabilities.
Greenshot worked pretty well for me. You can set the screenshot button to be something other than print screen if you want. You can also only grab portions of the screen at a time. I have though on occasion come across games that don't seem to work well with it, but I think those are typically the same games for which print screen doesn't work either.

no idea why they don't upload it elsewhere, used it in other games for years
Steam is shitware :-P

For my screenshotting needs, I use MSI Afterburner and (when the first solution fails) Fraps.
For me, Fraps is still the most reliable.
What controller are you using? With an Xbox One (I assume a 360 controller would be the same) controller the overlay is automatically mapped to the big Xbox button for me. That's the only thing I bother using for screen shots unless the game has a built in photo mode. If using another controller then, if it was me, and I couldn't map to the controller then I'd just use the keyboard shortcuts "Win+G"- unless you're playing too far from the keyboard with a controller and can't reach?

I'm using an Xbox compatible third-party controler. I does have the big middle button that brings up that Xbox menu thing but that takes a few seconds and isn't really feasible for fast action games :(
