It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

This is my personal code that I am currently using for those curious. I will update this file as needed, so please bookmark or save this thread. If you want to request something to be added, feel free to ask. This is for people who want a more vanilla GOG experience, and just want a few minor changes. For a more complete project see scripts by adaliabooks & Barefoot_Monkey.

You will need Greasemonkey or Tampermonkey installed. It is recommended that your browser be up to date, and the script manager too. This script has not been tested with other GOG based scripts, it is recommended that you do not use this script with other GOG based scripts.

Notice: You use this code at your own risk. No type of warranty is implied or provided, nor can I be held liable for any issues you may encounter from it's use. This script may break as GOG changes the site, and it has not been fully tested. If you notice a bug or issue with the site, be sure to disable your scripts and check again before reporting it to GOG.

-Features-

1. Videos on hover removed.
2. Game titles are now always shown.
3. Filter by release year links added. Please select the year before selecting any other filter or sort option. Will default to page 1 and bestselling when clicked. This will work as long as GOG doesn't remove the parameters. Credit to HunchBluntley & InkPanther for figuring out the parameters that select the release year.
4. Puts news at the top and moves some other elements around.
5. Review rating at top of store page links to review section.
6. Other minor changes like new colors or making things smaller (ie store banner, homepage banner).

Just make a new script and copy / paste.

BKGaming: If using FireFox you will need Greasemonkey installed. If using Chrome, you will need Tampermonkey installed (code has not been tested with this, but it should be similar I believe). I don't think there is any way to do this with IE or Edge.
From Tampermonkey's site:
Tampermonkey is the most popular userscript manager, with over 10 million users. It's available for Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Opera Next, and Firefox.
So Edge should work. At least the extension is there, whether or not the scripts work is a slightly different matter.

There have been solutions for using userscripts under Explorer, but most seem to have been discontinued and their sites shut down: Trixie, IE7Pro/IEPro, KangoExtensions, and Crossrider, all dead (I only recognised IE7Pro of those). However, I also found a rewrite of Trixie called called TrixIE WPF4.5, but I - of course - have no idea how well it works.

BKGaming: Okay I don't really want to create and maintain a script, one reason is because I would not have the time to devote to it and two I feel you are better served by adaliabooks & Barefoot_Monkey who may or may not end up adding similar code to their own scripts which are more complete projects.
Thanks so much for doing this. The fixes are exactly what I'm after.

I know this is a big ask as you've already said that you don't want to maintain the script but is there any chance you could put up a basic download file somewhere as I can't get Greasemonkey to make a new script (I don't know why but the new script option has never worked for me)? At least then I'll have a version of your basic script and then be able to edit in any changes you put in this thread. No worries if not but I just thought I'd ask. Thanks :)

I provided a zipped file at the end of the OP. Just click import backup in Greasemonkey and point it to the zipped file. I only provided the script, but I tested it and that should be all you need.

Added:

Add title Game Spotlight To 4 random games on the homepage and remove the padding.

I can't seem to post a reply (the eternal hanging bug seems to be in force today!) so I'll say thank you for making the file via a new post - it works perfectly and makes GOG work and look just so much better :)
Thank you everything is working (on Firefox) and makes the pages look much better.
New version uploaded. Please remove / uninstall old version, if you plan to use this one because a lot of stuff has changed.
