doccarnby: Oh, wait, I thought we were talking about my actual mum. (Glad she's not on this site!) Eh, your mum jokes are just used poorly. Much like "That's what she said", it only works if the setup is just right.

Navagon: In what context are "that's what she said" jokes applicable?
When someone you hate is on the verge of throwing themselves off a bridge?
Well, does he start off by saying "I can't take it anymore"? In that case, it might, in fact, be a bit applicable.
That tank footage is not the most exciting thing you could do certainly. It looked amazing but compared to Modern Warfare 3's demo it was like a quiet walk in the park versus a Michael Bay movie. Obviously tastes differ and personally I love immersion so much the BF3 demo looked better to me, but for the "common man" I don't think BF3's demo vid was a good choice.

And they really should have done a multiplayer on-stage demo like they did for Medal of Honor last year.

That works. :D Although you've got to be careful. Some states (the more enlightened ones) may have already outlawed the use of "that's what she said" in life threatening situations.

It really did give you a sense of scale and immersion though. MW is about pushing you down narrow corridors that are occasionally disguised as open spaces.

Well the BF3 footage was on rails, so I don't know what you mean.

Meaning you don't even drive the thing?

I'm pretty sure he wasn't driving. I could be wrong though. Surely you can drive it in multiplayer but it seemed on rails to me in singleplayer.

Given how it works in multiplayer I just assumed he knew what he was doing. After all there's all that "don't leave the combat area" BS if you do try to stray off target. So I didn't see any reason to think that it was all on rails. Sucks if that's the case though.
We still have to see any true BF multiplayer footage. Damn teases, the lot of them.
