Hello, my names Kevin and I'm addicted to buying games!..

How many games do you buy that you have every intention of playing but never actually play?

I have 29 games in my GOG catalogue now. I only joined GOG recently and I’ve only played a handful of them. I want to play them all but I know I won’t have the free time to do so.

I have 40+ steam games and somewhere between 70 and 80 physical xbox 360 games most of which I have never actually played. Usually, I pick up a game and play it from start to finish which leaves little time for the other game I have an intention of playing (given I don’t have much free time).

I started playing Fallout 3 a few days ago and I can only see myself getting sucked into that one... At least they look nice on the GOG shelf :-) Anyone else have this issue?

- Kevin.

Nah, I only buy games I have time to play.
I play nearly every game I own, but not always beat. This goes double for older PC games since it takes more time and effort to learn than I usually have between studies.
I'd wager most folks on here share that exact same "problem."

Welcome to hell. You'll have a vast library of classic games yet not a bit to eat.
I like to say collecting video games are my hobby, no matter if it's the physical or digital versions. Sounds much nicer than an addict :P. But yeah, I have tons of video games that I've collected for nostalgia (sometimes play if I get the chance/bored enough). I even have 99% or so of my old consoles and games; just can't bare to part with!!

I'm Jenn, and I'm a video game hoarder!
I have 182 games on GOG. Another 329 on Steam according to my profile. I stopped counting.

I probably have about 50-60 retail PC games lying around, although most of them have already been repurchased digitally, at least those I ever intend to play.

I guess I'm closing in on ~120 PS3 / Vita games total now.

You do not. Have a problem.
Over 100 Steam games, 32 GOG games, who knows how many indie bundle games (that are not included in Steam)... then there's the PS3, Wii, DS and PSP. Worse yet, I like RTS games, which of course can take quite a while to play through, if you ever really "finish". And then there's Minecraft.

If I look at an indie game or bundle, it had better be something incredibly awesome for me to consider it.

I think I have always enjoyed "sampling" games, though... so I do enjoy having a large collection, even of partially played games.
I buy some games just to have them, with "I will play it some day" in mind, but I at least try to play most of them...

I'm currently cleaning my Gamersgate and GOG backlog, but my steam backlog is growing...
I used to be much better at it but then the various indie bundles started happening. I will get around to plying the vast majority of them eventually, it might take some time to get to some of them, but I will. Properly finishing them might be a bit of a different matter but it's not always as important.

Yeah, that's a real pain in the ass... I buy a bundle and I play usually only one game from it, and then another bundle comes by...
