Ummm.......I've been really wanting to get EW Jim 1,2 and 3D but haven't had the cash for them yet - they're not getting pulled from GoG are they?
no mention of it so far but it might be best to make those your next purchases just in case
Maybe it's another PR trick from GOG staff who joined Roman5 ? :p

Interplay, as in the people who made good games in the past, is gone. I do not expect any good games from them anymore. But as an IP holder they are great for one reason only: they work with GOG. That's it. Because if they were to disappear the IPs would be sold left and right most likely. And inevitably some would get to a publisher that doesn't work with GOG. And that would truly suck.
If GOG puts Interplay games on sale (finally), I hope they will split the catalog into at least two sales, that way I can (and probably will) buy them all.

Lone3wolf: It's not like Gogs are $30+ each, they're a few quid!! Buy 1 a week!
There are 21 Interplay games on GOG I haven't bought yet. 21 weeks is plenty of time to bite the dust. During the first 21 weeks since I signed up here, two games have been taken down (Republic: the Revolution, which I got, and Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising, which I missed).

Taleroth: But.. but... we may be getting a Lucasarts sale this week!
We aren't getting a Lucasarts sale this week. We may be getting one or two Lucasarts games on the site this Thursday evening/Friday night/morning, depending on your time zone, and something else goes on sale during the weekend. (Everything Interplay at -30%, no batch discount, seems reasonable).

Also, today is a GOG GEM day (but if it happens, I probably own the game already).
Tough luck for Herve and Co.

Popinjay: YAH! another bankrupt publisher sale!
The GOG community should band together and purchase the rights to Kingpin :D

I'm afraid there are no weekend sales after big annoncements.
There was a big Interplay sale in September 2009. Got all games there. :-)
No new old ones seem to have been released since then, for those who got the games there.

So, you're saying that new titles don't typically have a discount when launched? That it only seemed that way in my brief time here?

I has a sad.

why?
it just six or ten bucks. petty cash really... i do understand wanting a discount on newer titles which can cost up to 60 bucks (or 100 bucks for countries where baby eat dingos and where hobbits roam free)
but gog games are cheap enough for discounts being just a nice few bucks savers not something which should make you sad when they are not there.

Although I get your point, for the same amount of money of about 10 bucks, you can either get a pretty ancient game on here, but on some sales, for the same amount you can get ... the whole Brother in Arms Series for instance, or all the Splinter Cell games for a couple bucks more, or ...

Well. I can see how it feels off to people at least when for the same amount or less you can often get far newer games. (let's assume the games are equally good for this)

Meh.

i do get your point but meh :D

newer / older

quality matters not when it was released. so splinter cell saga can be for 2 bucks but they ain't games which interest me so would be worth less than system shock 2 if it is released here for 10 bucks.
What would happen to the GOG selection should Interplay go under? I mean, assuming anyone that buys Interplay's IPs doesn't continue the relationship with GOG. Would the games disappear from the store? If so, would they then be pulled from people's "My Account" pages?

It hasn't happened before so no reason to assume it would happen now. At the very least the DRM-free nature of GOG games means you can simply back up the installers on discs so you will never lose them.
