This isn't a beg thread.

What I want is all those delicious Bitmap Bros games here on WinUAE. I really do not want to play Xenon 2 with blips and EGA I want to play the Amiga version. The best thing? All Bitmap Bros games are owned by the Bitmap Bros. No licensing issues.Come on GOG Get some Amiga emulation going!

That would be AWESOME. I´d like to support the Bitmaps, or what´s left of them.
Boosting WinUAE development also for a 64bit JIT.

Too bad I never had an Amiga, because this game looks like a lot of fun to me :(

Problem is, the amiga kickstart rom isn't freeware.

They could, of course, make a deal with the copyright holders and offer the kickstart roms available for download on this site. Then GOG would have to clearly state that owning a kickstart rom is required for the Amiga games to run, and then include an option to add it to your shopping list, to avoid any confusion.

Who owns the rights though? Amiga Inc.? Cloanto?
I suspect the problem with selling Amiga games is not the licenses for the games themselves. It's the license for the Amiga Kickstart ROM. (Edit: Ninja'd)

Still, GOG did ask a while ago which other older platforms people were interested in having them branch out to. Amiga was one of the options. So I assume they have given the matter some thought.

That said, there is a ton of Amiga games I'd love to be able to buy here.

That is not fully out of the question. I've seen a couple of Amiga collections on sale, which do use UAE to emulate amgia. They had officially licensed Amiga kickstart. The question is though, will GOG change its stand on emulation. As their unwillingness to sell emulated games is the main issues here.
I did actually read that the guy behind WinUAE was working on a free Kickstart-replacement. That would change things quite a bit in the world of Amiga emulation.

Same here. Heck, Z was my first purchased game ever.
I miss amiga games :(

North and South
Deuteros: The next Milennium
Body Blows
Pinball Dreams/Fantasies
Wings
Dune 1/2
Flashback
Syndicate
Megalomania
Centurion: Defender of Rome
Populous
Ports of Call
Project X

There we go. Make it a single amiga pack, 5.99, instabuy xD

But GOG may need to pay for the amiga ROM... A program with the legal ROM like Amiga Forever costs 30 euro...

Agreed on both counts. But if any company is going to be releasing Amiga emulated games then it's probably going to be the one posing as Commodore.

Plus, you know GOG take the path of least resistance. They're not going to overcomplicate things for a better version of the game. They've proven that already with Overseer by giving us the CD version (even though GOG users managed to get the DVD version working by themselves).

Bullshit :-P One of the best things about the Bitmap Brothers' production is that they made great PC conversions, and except for some nice digital audio effects in the OST their PC games are second to no Amiga whatsoever....
