Hi,

So I installed galaxy and downloaded Witcher 3 (22 GB) and started to install it. Accepted the EULA and now it says that its intalling the game and downloading another 26 GB. Should that happen? If not then should I exit from galaxy and try to install directly from the downloaded files?

The 22GB file is from GOG Galaxy I presume, the other one it a DRM free standalone that you can download and keep as a backup.

I accidentally clicked it after downloading the 22GB one on Galaxy.
You can either save it or delete it, I did the latter of the two and just kept the Galaxy version installed.

Well, it seems a bit odd that after downloading it (from galaxy) and pushing install-button it starts to download a backup and installing the game at the same time. Let just hope that the game will work and I dont have to download it again :)

When you click install on the Galaxy client, it streams / downloads and installs at the same time, just like Diablo 3 or World of Warcraft on the battle.net desktop app, this doesn't keep the install files, just the unpacked game. The difference here, is that you can choose to download the install files seperatly, incase you plan on re-installing it sometime and don't want to download the whole thing :)

There's no real reason to use both options, but I like keeping a backup copy, this is a beta client after all ;)

I dont mind. I have time and space. I guess I just have to wait and see what happens. Galaxy says it is still installing the game (and downloading at the same time: 35% ready), Should it atleast install it and notify when it is ready? It has been installing almost an hour :)
It depends on your machine and download speeds, It won't pop up saying "Heya ! W3 ready !" I think, I just left it overnight few days ago :)

But assuming it will reach 100% and finish completely, I plan to restart the galaxy client and let it download the update, if it won't work, I'll go directly to the site and download the patch from http://play.thewitcher.com/
Should be available on release time, hoping servers won't crash or anything :)

Maybe this is normal then. I checked the website for normal download and there seven of them (parts 1-7: 25+4+4+4+4+4+2.4 GB) so it seems that downloading 47 GB is the right way to go :)

The 25 is not GB but MB, so it still is a bit smaller than the Galaxy download. The first file is just the setup and file check.
