Just bought this game and to be honest I just won't play a lot of games that don't have quick save options. Does anybody know if this game has it? I tried F5 and F8 and didn't get a response from the game. thanks!

There is no quicksave.

The game has frequent respawn points. It shouldn't be too much of an issue with how many there are.
There is a quicksave feature. Try checking the options and see which keys it's bound to.

However, it may not be wise to rely on it exclusively in the remastered versions. There are reports on the Steam forums about potentially losing saves due to these versions' instability and frequent crashes. I recommend making periodic manual saves as well as quicksaving.

Isn't that only Bioshock 2?

I played through both remasters, purchased here, and I only had maybe 2 crashes, both in bioshock 2.

You might be right. It's been a while since I last played the remastered versions, but I recall there being some feature disparity between 1 and 2.

Thanks for the replies. How would I make a periodic manual save? I like to play games that I can dip into for a few minutes at a time if I don't have time to commit. Being able to save that progress is of course a big plus.
Go into the pause menu and save option, you can make dozens of them (I recommend keeping at LEAST two manual saves, maybe three if you encounter any crashing). The game also autosaves every time you enter an area, which is separate from the manual ones.

I am not finding many options and no key with the option to save. There are very few options.

F8 is quicksave, F9 quickload. You can't change them, since you need the "earlier" F-Keys for Plasmids.

You can manually save from the menu. Also it will autosave in short intervals. And you will be asked if you want to save your game when you quit :-)

Bioshock 1 Remastered runs like a charm on my machine, Bioshock 2 Remastered crashes quite often, but I've heard reports from people with no issues, or even reversed, so YMMV.

Apparently the default quick save option is F8, but it does not show any confirmation message.

My first time using the game. I just found the key bindings page. Hopefully, I can make quick save work. I really think it failed to save most of my progress when I first played it. It will be a work in progress.

OK. I got to the pause screen and foiund the save greyed out, but after a few minutes the option to save was availlable. Thanks for all the help!
