So what was the name of that mod that supposedly improves the gameplay for example I remember that it made the stealth alot better and silenced weapons actually worked.

Can anyone post a link please?
You are most-likely referring to Dylan's Mod. Don't have a link handy, but it should be easy to find, knowing the name.

Stealthy is my favorite way to play FC2, and stealth works fine without the mod, and the mod makes the game too easy; especially when playing stealthily (your weapons become overpowered). It's 'advertised' as making things more realistic, but it plays like an easy-mode mod.

All IMO ofc. You may want to read my comments in this thread and this post.

Either way, hope you enjoy the game :)

I didn't realise you had an option. When a game gives you a flame thrower, I expect it to be used at all times.
The biggest problem I had with the game was the super fast respawn rates of enemy camps and how they all seemingly had bulletproof tank tops and t-shirts. Stealth felt alright out of the box.

Bullet proof still burns... flamethrower! :D

Haha, yeah, I guess. Didn't play much with the flamethrower though.

I think the respawn rate was not based on time, but whether you exit the current map area, and re-enter it. The game basically resets the map area if you re-enter it. I have a feeling it is due to consoles, it takes less RAM that way (have to track who is killed and what items are taken only in the current map where you are).

If some enemy outpost is near the edge of the map, then yeah it may feel like they keep constantly respawning if you keep going across the map edge back and forth.

The good news is:

- You don't necessarily have to kill them all every time. Usually just speeding through with your car is an option, or driving offroad (avoiding enemies).

- While the enemies respawn... so do any ammo and health packs on that outpost. So re-kill the enemies if you must, and replenish your ammo and health packs in the process. That was an easy way to replenish them if needed.

Also, it helps if you think of the game as a GTA-clone. No one complains how the hostile police cars or enemy gang members keep respawning in GTA games.

I think you are right on here.

Well, at first I had plenty fun engaging them, but it got pretty annoying fast as they didn't have a particularly hard time blowing my vehicles as I tried to drive past them (when I didn't feel like killing them again).

I remember a particular moment that actually made me drop the game for several weeks that involved using the hang glider to get a diamond only reachable by flying. So, I totally fail to reach the diamond, drop right into the middle of an enemy camp, kill everyone, go again to try my luck with the glider, almost make it to the diamond location, get shot and killed by the same people I murdered literally minutes ago, because apparently the camp respawned.
I want a mod that lets me toggle the aim so I don't have to hold the button down constantly.

There are many off-road routes to take that allow you to completely avoid most of guard-posts and encampments. Other than that, I've had pretty good luck blowing past them and/or losing them in chases - although my vehicle might take a certain amount of damage (up to a lot). Try more off-roading..

The only diamond I can recall offhand that both 'required' a hang-glider AND you had to fly over enemies to get to it, was at the rail-yard. (I can think of other's that needed the hang-glider, but you didn't have to overfly enemies.)

For that one at the rail-yard, you can reach that one from the ground, if you park an assault jeep or that Fortune's Pack utility truck, or the 'big truck', on one side of the big rock, and climb atop the vehicle - you can then jump from the vehicle to the rock and retrieve the diamond - without hang-gliding over the rail-yard.

Was that the one? Or a different one?

1. I'm the opposite I like it when I hold to aim down the sight.

2. But I have the same opinion as you when it comes to crouching :P

3. I wish this game give us the option to go prone and feature leaning.

hmmm... you could just play far cry 1, ... its kind of an improved version of fc2.
