Why is gog installing GOG Galaxy into games i brought that didnt need it?

i use gog because i hate steam and orion clients i want my games to be drm free and haivng cloud saves and auto updating and linking games to a online server non mmo to me is same as drm,,,

Good Games promised us when it started our games be drm free and ours to use for ever if we have the pcs to run them, im a gamer who collects games from my life on pc since the 70s and since drm online connected and locked server games robs me of this,, like when gamespy was shutdown 350 of my games lost the ability to go online do to them being keyed on a gamespy server ect....

im not a hater been fan of the witcher games since it was releashed and trusted only gog as my online game place to buy them,, but now i see they are updating my games in library to have the GOG Galaxy client and not giving me option to reget old style versions i had purchesd so whats going on here,,, am i not able to use games here with out cloud saves and GOG Galaxy in future.. did they lie to me ?

i like to update to new patched versions for my libray but dont want to be tied to GOG Galaxy..

This post is not a hater on gog but a confused gog user wondering whats going on here,,, also theres somthing fishy with witcher two store brought game i had xp machine it died i went to reinstall it on my new board using win 7 and it wont load now and its my game i brought on disc since day one is their a drm on it?

Download the classic installers then? Click more, then classic installers and grab the updated installers without Galaxy.
P.S. Even while using Galaxy, you can opt out of Cloud Saves.
so there was an option wow missed it,, it had me worried was like omg im done!
when i saw the 12 games repatched with gog galaxy client it had me thinking nective about them and fearing it was time to leave here annd to go back to yeard sales and theft shops diging for my old classic games...

Not trying to be a smart ass here. When it comes to complaints about Galaxy, specifically THIS complaint, we are pretty much offered this.

What. has it been a year now, more, since they pulled this crap with the installers? I have yet to meet one person in here, even among the die hard Galaxy fans (yes they do exist) who don't think this is bullshit to the Nth degree, and yet nothing gets done and the complaints are blown off.

AND YES I KNOW it's not a big effort to switch installers. I'm not pissed about the added energy that is being asked of us, I'm pissed about how bass ackwards the move is to begin with, and how the gripes about it go ignored.

If the game support multi-player or network-based features via Galaxy, GOG will provide Galaxy-bundled installers by default.
If the game totally do not need Galaxy and the installer still bundled it, then it is a bug.

Just so you know even the Galaxy bundled installers can install your game without Galaxy. Simply go to installer options and uncheck "install Galaxy". The only difference between them and classic installers is you have to opt-out of installing Galaxy if you don't want it.

And even IF you use Galaxy, cloud saves, auto updates, etc can all be turned off in the client settings. Hell you can even download classic offline installers using it.

Using a client has zero to do with a game actually being DRM Free or not.
What would the point of buying games here if they just turned into a less refined Steam with less games and far inferior multiplayer framework?.The guys at GOG know this ;).Cheers

Just to make you aware, there are 2 "What has updated" threads here on the forums, one being a digest of the other. You may want to keep them bookmarked/ favorited to see what changes have been made.

Just a fyi....

Main thread: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_what_did_just_update_thread

And the digest:

Hope this helps
Here we go again...

Keep in mind we were also "promised" the option to set classic installers as default. Apparently that is almost impossibly hard to set up seeing how it's been... I don't even remember, six months since that promise? More?
