I bought mortal kombat 11 on steam on summer sale.
Most of the single player is blocked because of the game cant log-in to their ominous servers.

The refund was refused by an auto generated email that reasoned that I exceeded the 2 hours playtime, without a chance to actually troubleshoot with an employee. Well guess how much of that "playtime" I actually tried all kinds of silly stuff to get the game running.

I remember years back when I refunded a game here, an employee actually considered my case and tried to help in a chat, afterward I got my refund.
not really relevant but the gog employee one was kinda sweet

So it seems like you are trying to imply that GOG has a better refund policy than Steam, which is a common assertion around here. It isn't actually true though.

You could refund an infinite number of games on Steam if you don't exceed the 2 hour limit.

But you certainly can't refund an infinite number of games on GOG.

Therefore, the Steam refund policy is certainly much better than GOG's is. And I'm not still not saying that Steam has a good refund policy though.

Also, the part of your post that said "without a chance to troubleshoot with an employee" doesn't seem legit. According to what your OP says, you were asking for a refund, not troubleshooting. So you can't blame Steam for not giving you something that you never asked them for in the first place.

There WAS no god damn valve troubleshooting to consider ! They just point towards WG Games !
The gog troubleshooting was a part of the overall refund process !
There was an employee here that went through several things with me that might caused my game crash
