nice - most likely an instant buy then - always heard good things about that game but didn't back it in the beginning and well then kinda lost track out of it.

huN73R: Actually when you get it on Steam, they give you a key which when registered on their site allows you to download the DRM-free version from their site. They host all builds DRM-free over there.
I can confirm this. It's an inferior version though, as Steam Workshop has the addons and it's not possible to automatically patch the DRM free build without Steam copy.

Matruchus: So I just noticed Prison Arhitect is being released on 6th of October. Maybe we will finally see it here. It should make Judas really happy :)

Ciris: We can confirm that it IS coming to GOG.com and it's gonna be awesome :D

[edit] Was too excited to provide all information - it'll be coming on release date (if all goes according to plan)!
Thanks for the good news. One question though - Will the linux build be available also?
That's great news, I actually emailed them about this a few months ago and they said they had no plans for a GOG release, I'm glad they changed their minds because I've been following this since nearly the beginning.

Grargar: Heh. The game that was released as an alpha on Steam before it even launched its Early Access program, is finally complete.
avatar
Pheace: To be fair, the game was worth playing years ago and they've been doing monthly updates ever since (which were great fun to watch)
This, the game was addictive and worth playing from early alphas, for the most part each release has been adding more features, but none of the features in the last year or year and a half felt like they couldn't have been left off. The game reached the point where the developers could be forgiven for just fixing the bugs and releasing at least a year ago.

I think that the continued development has more to do with the fact that they've continued to receive money from people buying in on it and not being pressured to complete just to start earning money on it.

Distance is in a similar situation. That project officially was supposed to be delivered years ago, but they keep adding on new features and expanding the vision. But, because the game is both playable and fun as an alpha, there doesn't seem to be much pressure for them to exit alpha and make it a final release.

That's good news. I doubt I'll get it here as I've already bought it, but this game definitely belongs on GOG.

I already have a copy of this game I bought way back and can say I agree with the others here, that even in the early alphas this was really fun to play. I have not played the last 3~4 updates as I am happy playing the version currently on my machine, but it was really good back then, and with the escape mode this looks like it will be an even better finished game.

I like that it is coming here. Thanks to both the developers and GOG for getting this here.
Does anyone know if you get to add a Death Row?

What about "dungeons"?

Basically what I'm saying is, will it have an American version?

Shit I was joking! :P

I'm very anti-capital punishment but this option may be too fun to pass up. :P

Honestly, I'd have more fun watching them kill each other. My prison guards will be the type who take kindly to bribes.
