Each year i was hopping this will get fixed... and each year i got disapointed, because the bug its so annoying.

But since i got a Steam Deck i just stopped playing games from GOG and just lost pretty much all interest this will get fixed any day soon. I just dont wanna deal with annoying things when i just wanna play the games and install them remotely.

Pretty shocked this is still unfixed. Ugh. Steam, Epic, Ubi, EA, everyone else's launchers work remotely. Why is GoG Galaxy so special that accessing it from RDP is so bad?
Adding to this issue as well. I really don't understand why it takes such long to address this issue. Very frustrating where all we want is just to keep playing something which is installed on our desktop but from our laptop either when we away from home or in bed before going to sleep, without needing to install the game on both systems.

Dear GOG team,
If you're willing to push users to actually use the GOG Galaxy client then please consider prioritizing this issue before other GOG Galaxy client updates. We can always play our games indepentendly which works fine in RDP, but we do lose the benefits of using the client you work hard to advertise, such as game achievements and such.

Adding to this like so many others. Doesn't work over rdp. I just want to install my games so they are ready to play when I am.
Please fix this!

I just ran into this myself booting GOG for the first time in a while, and just happened to be doing it over RDP as I wanted to install a few games I just bought. Highly annoying.

Switched over to TeamViewer (free) instead of RDP and the GOG Client is happy. So that's a workaround for now.

But yeah this is a silly bug.

Same feeling and soon for me same solution. Wanted to download BG3 while away from home, still disappointed by this old bug (last time, it was with Cyberpunk...).

It their choice to not maintain properly their app... It's my choice to look elsewhere for my next purchases...
CD Projekt, fix this stupid problem already, having this problem unsolved for years is absolutely lame!
just to be clear, Galaxy is not designed to be used by remote desktop so this is not a bug but i guess if enough people ask for it in a wish list then perhaps one day
Throwing my vote for this as well. I see no reason to not allow use via RDP, pretty frustrating...
gog sucks bad i will not buy other game ever again here with no rdp support
They just don't care, won't buy another Game from here..
Unless something has been changed in the last few years, GOG Galaxy "do" work with RDP. The only problem is that you need to have started GOG with a local login before remoting to the computer through the RDP protocol.

If you have Radmin or Google Remote Desktop, you can start it through those without any issue.

I used to use it with remote desktop when issue occured
but now after reinstalling it directly on machine with monitor attached and without remote desktop it still gives same error.

pleaes help gog

your client doesn't work on windows 11
Just adding my 2 cents worth here, still an issue, still annoying.

Remote in through RDP, start GOG, it appears to start successfully, wait a few seconds and it will exit with the error "Connection to Communication Service was lost and could not be restored".
