Hi! Pretty straightforward question. When they launched and for some time after, 2.0 was terribad. Haven't tried it for a while, don't wanna wipe my old install for a clunky newer version. Can anyone currently using 2.0 tell if if it works alright or if it's still a disaster please? I don't care about third parties integrations, I'm using another software for that.

I love the aesthetic of the launcher, and all the different customization options and library filters: they added a new "Discovery" section, where they just throw in front of your eyes random games and some games divided by genres, nothing you can't already see on the website, but it's convenient because here you have a news (very convenient, at least for me) feed and a rotating banner with different major sales/news.

Performance wise it is stable now, no crashes so far, and for GOG games management is good, with also a convenient update roll-back feature

I'm relatively new to the platform, and I never tried the old Galaxy launcher, but the thing I love are integrations, but I have to say that they abandoned development of the Integrations API, so no new features and, at least for now, is all almost unmaintained.

Well they finally did away with the Recently Played by Others section, but then replaced this with a Similar to This section which effectively places and advert for an unrelated game on the main page of every single game you own. This moves info relevant to your own games off the page to make way for an ad.

They moved the Store section to the top of the left hand list which give it priority over the games you've added to your own bookmarks and shoves them down the screen.

They also placed their new "Discover" button right at the top of the list giving it priority over everything else and have linked it your Recently Played button, so you can't hide one without the other.

They're taking all the steps necessary to turn this into one more marketing app whilst making your already owned games a secondary function. If your okay with that give it a try, if not it's not worth the hassle if you already have something else you like using.
