Pinball Construction SetPinball Construction Set created a new genre of video games - the "builder" or "construction set" class of games.
Users can construct their own virtual pinball machine, by dropping controls onto a table. Controls included bumpers, flippers, spinners and other standard pinball paraphernalia. Attributes such as gravity and the physics model could also be modified.
Users could then save their creations and develop custom artwork to go along with them. As Pinball Construction Set itself was not needed to play the tables, they could be freely traded online or on a floppy disk.Action
Pinball FantasiesAfter the success of Pinball Dreams on several systems, a sequel featuring four new tables was created. The gameplay is much the same as the first game, with realistic physics, multi-player options and a high score table to aim for. The tables are Partyland, Speed Devils, Billion Dollar Gameshow and Stones 'n' Bones, taking in a funfair, racing cars, a tacky game-show, and a graveyard. Each one has a range of ramps, combos, light sequences and targets to shoot, as well as general themes which are less influenced by real tables than those in Pinball Dreams.
3-D Ultra Pinball: Creep NightPinball with a strong horror motif.
In the 3-D Ultra Pinball tradition, many of the effects achieved on these tables could not be reproduced on traditional machines. 3-D Ultra Pinball: The Lost Continent3-D Ultra Pinball: The Lost Continent have a Jurassic Park-like scenario. It followed a storyline, in which a plane falls on an island where an evil genius, Heckla, has created dinosaurs of other animals and the cavemen who live there. Professor Spector, his assistant Mary, and adventurer Rex Hunter try to escape back to the modern world, rescue Neeka (a tribal woman), and stop Heckla and his army of robots.
It has no challenges, but features 16 tables, divided in 3 "sectors": Jungle, Temple and Chambers (Heckla's Lab).Action
