The Ar tonelico series is in my opinion arguably the best RPG games I have played.
1) I own the OSTs to all 3 games. When I play them, I get an elation doing so. I got emotional when I booted up Part 3 of the series because I knew it was the last. I also pre-ordered this game and the last after playing the first.
2) It is a single player RPG which fits my gaming style.
3) All parts of it made it fun. Combat, background music, synthesizing, diving into the Reyvateils, and earning costumes.
4) I want all 3 on GOG because this would likely be the only place other than a PS2/PS3 to play them.
Final Point: I will be adding in my two cents on the other two games as well.
I forgot to mention the game was shipped to me and I received it on my birthday which was a bonus on top of the rest.
This game and quite frankly, every single entry in the trilogy has a certain cohesiveness in its story, gameplay, and soundtrack that is incredibly unique to this day. It's a one of a kind trilogy that should be preserved since its blend of romance, action, musical theatrics, and heavy-handed themes is just unmatched. This game in particular is the best example of what i'm talking about. I hope this entry and eventually all of the trilogy gets the modern ports they deserve to have
Tobal 2The fighting system in Tobal 2 is the same as in the previous game. The player can freely navigate 3D fighting arenas under the condition that he or she faces the opponent. High, medium, and low attacks can be executed using assigned buttons. As in Tobal No. 1, the grappling and blocking system offers the player a variety of offensive and defensive maneuvers. A new unblockable fireball attack has been added for each character. Tobal 2 was released on the same day as Sony's Dual Analog Controller in Japan, noted as the first game compatible with the peripheral. Graphically, the game features Gouraud shaded and higher-resolution character models compared to Tobal No. 1, but still runs at 60 frames per second.Action Fantasy Science fiction
