ArmA 2 and its extensions is a great classic of military simulation. It's a shame it was removed from GOG. I would love to see it again with all the DLC and the latest updates.

Please bring it back, GoG. ARMA is simply the best shooter series. Ive spent thousands of hours since Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis. Between the mission editor and the endless mods for every ARMA game recreating any conflict you can think of, this series is endless milsim greatness.
Those games also need your vote!

Gunforce
GunforceGunForce: Battle Fire Engulfed Terror Island or simply titled as GunForce, is a side-scrolling action shooting game produced by Irem for the arcades in 1991. The game was later ported by Bits Studios and published by Irem to the Super Famicom exclusively in Japan in 1992. Outside of Japan, it later received a sequel titled GunForce II, originally known in Japan as Geo Storm. The player is armed with a gun that fires rapid-fire bullets. Each direction it shoots can be fixed toward it so the player doesn't have to hold the joystick toward it. Players may find motorcycles to speed across enemy territory faster in addition to helicopters and cable cars. After scoring over any high score, whether they win or lose, players can enter their name into the high score list after the game over screen is "achieved". A strict time limit keeps the game going at a steady pace throughout; the consequence involves losing a life.

Gates of Zendocon
Gates of ZendoconGates of Zendocon is a side-scrolling shooter very similar to the original arcade shooter of this type, Scramble. Unlike Scramble, however, there are 51 game areas in total, but the player fights through a subset of them through branches, choosing the next area to visit. Some aliens will join you when shot (power-ups). Alien bases in each area allow you to repair your weapons and shield, but landing at the wrong time will cause your ship to explode and lose all power-ups.

Atomic Robo-Kid
Atomic Robo-KidAtomic Robo-Kid is a horizontally scrolling shooter released in arcades by UPL. The player controls the titular character through six stages of increasing difficulty, facing an alien "governor" boss (which are so large as to be considered levels in and of themselves, as some of the bosses take up several screens) at the end of each level, followed by a "duel" level against other Robo-Kid sized robots. Many levels branch into others, giving the player the choice over which zone to enter next, increasing replayability.

Terra Cresta
Terra CrestaTerra Cresta is a vertically scrolling shoot 'em up. The player controls a ship, initially with limited firepower. Numbered pods appear containing further parts of the ship that will increase firepower. These additional parts combine with the player's ship to increase its firepower, and the final module transforms it into a fiery phoenix which is invulnerable for a certain period of time. Once the ship has multiple sections, the player may also split it, allowing it to fire in multiple directions. The player begins with three lives and it is possible to play with either one or two players.
