Story:Bloody Roar 3 pits 12 outlandish combatants against each other in one of the most ambitious 3D fighting games to grace the PlayStation 2. Returning from Hudson's widely acclaimed PS1 titles are Stun, Long and Jenny, each of who brings a unique fighting skill to the arena. During each bout, players build an energy bar based on the number of successful kicks and punches they land on their opponent. As the bar fills, players can then morph their combatant into terrifying manimals from beasts such as lions and tigers to moles. The morph, in turn, unlocks a secondary control system specifically designed with each creature's combat moves and appearance in mind. This and Bloody Roar 2 were my absolute favorites to play! All the characters and movesets were interesting with some awesome looking specials moves. My favorites were probably Bukuryu and Uriko with how fast they were. Would love to challenge my brother again at this!
I use to love playing this with my cousins. We could spend hours playing this. The story kept me busy to and to unlock all characters took awhile. Would love to see this one and the 4th one. I didnt get to play the 4th one. Fighting games are making a come back, so this game would make sense to bring back. A new one would be awesome.
To be honest, I discovered the Bloody Roar series not too long ago and I started with this episode on PS2 a few months ago, which I find cool.
So I'm maybe not the best person to talk about this game series, but I think it deserves to be more in the spotlight, especially at a time when Tekken has a monopoly on 3D Versus Fighting (well, then there's Sega, which seems to want to revive Virtua Fighter), because I find it quite original to have our character transform into a beastman in the middle of a fight.
