While I have played and beaten this numerous times with Steam, I'm still amazed by its tone and look. Sure, the story is dark and gritty, so it's easy to make fun of it, but I was still intrigued by where the plot would take me, especially at the end of the game. I want this game to be on GOG because I feel it has been forgotten, especially compared to other popular horror games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil. If it does come to GOG, I hope players who want to play it don't have to download a patch or two just to run it.

One of the best thriller games. The environments are very well crafted and immersive. Investigative sections may be a little simplistic, but move the story along. The mixture of on-the-ground detective work while battling supernatural forces kept me on edge.

Perfect game for Halloween for everyone born in the 90s. Let it be preserved for everyone and have it grace every person´s game libraries just as much as others like Resident Evil series, Amnesia and Silent Hill. It absolutely doesn´t deserve to be forgotten ^-^

After WB Games just shutdown Monolith Productions yesterday (25/02/2025), it is more important than ever ALL IPs from now-defunct Monolith Productions are preserved! In the case o Condemned: Criminal Origins, there is a superior first-person combat, lots of dreadful atmosphere, investigations, exploration, and lots of weapons taken from environment to survive, where not even using guns is safe enough. Please, let's preserve this game forever!

RIP Monolith and F@#K you, David Zaslav and Warner Bros. for shutting them down! I know the OG teams are gone, but hey the name MONOLITH still means something. I played this twice. Both on Xbox 360 and Steam, which the latter suffered loads of issues that required unofficial patch. The controllers are a bit broken, because it doesn't support XInput. But you might be asking "This game was released for Xbox 360, how the f@#K did it not get XInput support?" That's because controllers are still Primitive for PC users that they only need K+M to play the game in 2006. Hope SEGA and Jace Hall brought this game here and fast.

Great mystical atmosphere, interesting fights with enemies, environment and story, this game has bypassed f.e.a.r. in many ways. I think this game needs a remaster or a full remake so that new gamers who might have missed this hidden gem can get acquainted with it.
This was the best Xbox-exclusive psychological horror FPS I've ever played. It was criminally insane for warner bros to close the very studio of this unforgettable horror gem. It deserved everyone's attention, and hoping for controller support on the PC
The game that actually got me into the horror genre. Maybe WB was better off making a sequel to this series instead of putting Monolith on a game that cost millions in lost profit and many people their jobs....

Monolith's games have left a lasting impression on me, and FEAR in particular is one of my favorite games. I'd love to be able to discover their games that I haven't yet had the chance to play, and condemned is one of them. For monnolith's sake ! <3

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
