A perfect "easy-to-learn, hard-to-master" fighting game that still feels rewarding even after 100s of hours. This is the peak of the franchise imo and the most deserving of being reborn on PC!

Mortal Kombat X
Mortal Kombat XMortal Kombat X is the tenth main game in the one-on-one fighting series and a sequel to the 2011 title Mortal Kombat. The game stays close to the visual style and the mechanics of the 2011 reboot. The main controls are still based on two types of punches and kicks, and blocking, to form combos with uppercuts, teleports, special moves that incorporate weapons and fatalities. The three-tiered energy from the previous title returns, making available X-Ray moves, powered up EX moves and combo breakers. As introduced in Injustice: Gods Among Us, characters can use the environment to re-position themselves or optionally use parts as weapons. Each character now has three variations with different moves and weapons. There is once again a sprinting gauge, returning from Mortal Kombat 4.

Mortal Kombat II
Mortal Kombat IIMortal Kombat II is an unlicensed port of Mortal Kombat made by Hummer Team. Both Kart Fighter and AV Bishoujo Senshi Girl Fighting, which were released later, use an earlier version of this game's engine. Despite the title, this game is actually a port of the first Mortal Kombat. This was likely done as a form of selling the product as a sequel, a common trait with unlicensed NES games. While the game is mostly faithful to the original game graphics-wise, some features were cut from the game. These include fatalities and blood which are found only in Mortal Kombat II Special. Also Goro is the same size as the other characters, probably due to the NES's limitations.
