Themes:Fantasy, 4X (explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate)
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer
Story:Another sunrise, another day of toil. Food must be grown, industries built, science and magic advanced, and wealth collected. Urgency drives these simple efforts, however, for your planet holds a history of unexplained apocalypse, and the winter you just survived was the worst on record. A fact that has also been true for the previous five.
As you discover the lost secrets of your world and the mysteries of the legends and ruins that exist as much in reality as in rumor, you will come to see that you are not alone. Other peoples also struggle to survive, to grow, and perhaps even to conquer.
You have a city, a loyal populace, and a few troops; your power and magic should be sufficient to keep them alive. But beyond that, nothing is certain… Where will you go, what will you find, and how will you react? Will your trail be one of roses, or of blood?Show more
I'm surprised that this game hasn't ended up on GOG, especially since Endless Space, Endless Space 2, and Dungeon Of The Endless are already available on the store.
This game is a 4x legend. It blurs the line between fantasy and SF, with such innovative systems that it has stood the test of time, and continues to see active support and player base to this day. Endless Space put Amplitude on the map, but Endless Legend was their finest achievement. I desperately want to get this one in my game archive. Help make the DRM-free dream come true!
This is an underrated Grand Strategy/4x game ever made. When I first played it, I thought: what a weird game, it sucks. And stopped playing. I even deleted it from my Steam library. But a little later, I gave it a second chance. I don't remember why. Then I realized its depth, and it's my favorite strategy game to date. Still learning things about it.
I actually think it's even better than HOMM III.
