Story:Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is a first-person shooter video game developed by Splash Damage and published by Activision for Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The prequel to Quake II, Quake Wars is set in the same science fiction universe as Quake II and Quake 4, with a minimal back-story serving as a prequel to Quake II. It is the second multiplayer-focused game in the Quake series after Quake III Arena. Quake Wars features similar gameplay to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, but with the addition of controllable vehicles and aircraft as well as multiple AI deployables, asymmetric teams, much larger maps and the option of computer-controlled bot opponents. Unlike the previous Enemy Territory games, Quake Wars is a commercial release rather than a free download. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars received mostly positive reviews upon release, although it received some criticism on consoles.Show more

ET:QW offered team based gameplay with operations and objectives prior unknown to the quake cosmos. Played mostly with our q3 ctf team and other friends. Vast maps and the gametype where you move forward like in frontlines made it very interesting and rewarding to play. Just to have a funtioning server browser and a safe harbor for an outstanding game based on an id tech game engine. ET:QW deserves to be preserved and have ppl dl and play it.

Insane Skill Mode. Insane Playstyle never seen in a other Game. Please bring this game back again. The Problem is Online Servers are get shut down from the Dev and Publisher it must be bring this Multiplayer back again. I spent so many hours in this Game. A little community play this game every Sunday with own customs Server.
Why Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Should Be on GOG Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, released in 2007, was ahead of its time—a class-based, objective-focused multiplayer shooter that bridged the gap between the strategic depth of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and the sci-fi chaos of the Quake universe. Developed by Splash Damage and id Software, it featured sprawling maps, asymmetric warfare between the GDF and Strogg, and a layered gameplay experience that emphasized teamwork, coordination, and tactical play. Despite being a critical and cult success, the game is now largely inaccessible on modern storefronts. With the closure of various servers and no current digital re-release, Quake Wars has become a lost gem in the evolution of multiplayer shooters. This is precisely why GOG is the perfect place for it. GOG specializes in preserving classics and reviving forgotten favorites—especially games that helped shape online multiplayer as we know it today. A GOG version of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars could include updated server support, modern compatibility fixes, and DRM-free access that keeps the community alive and thriving. Reintroducing Quake Wars to modern audiences would honor its legacy while giving strategy-minded FPS fans a second chance to enjoy one of the most unique team-based shooters ever made. Its mix of vehicles, deployables, objectives, and faction dynamics still holds up in today's gaming landscape. Let’s bring this sci-fi battlefield back—where teamwork really made the difference.
I remember wanting to pick up the game on Steam, this was near the end of its lifespan as a game. I had the complete id Software and Bethesda owned collections and was looking forward to finishing my id Software games when it was REMOVED!! I had to buy a physical copy, and I would just like to have a digital form of it somewhere so I don't have to go find my disc hidden somewhere in my house. I would love to see this game come back and raise back up the community. There's usually a few ETQW tournaments at Quakecon, so I feel it would be a great opportunity.
Excellent game. I love how it is the Quake rendition of Battlefield or PlanetSide. I would love for them to expand on the concept. I think the market could definitely use a more gritty and serious toned Battlefield style game like Killzone or Quake Wars.

Not sure they would sell a game that doesn't work out of the box due to online services being shut down and servers need unofficial patches to enable online play. Would be great to see on gog but can already get full game on myabandonware and online play is active thanks to great revival community.

This is a game that myself and my siblings would play together despite having no idea what Quake was at the time, we just saw a Battlefront like game that looked cool and rented it off Gamefly ALOT. I would love to surprise them by showing this game running again.

With 2007 being a golden age for gaming, there were hundreds of titles on all platforms that stand out. However the PC version of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was a significant cult hit. A mixture of the best of Battlefield and Quake, with a unique style that decades later is still hard to match. Unfortunately, the reason why it has yet to be matched, is because of the short lifespan it had on Steam. Thankfully I have a physical copy, however with Microsoft being the holder of the rights we should have a better shot now than ever to get the title reinstated. Playing as the enemy Strogg was really a unique experience and one that I havent really seen in many games. It truly felt like being part of an Alien army and even more terrifying having to fight them as the humans. Overall, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars scored very well upon release with an average of 8.5/10. For a game to be that well rated, and yet so forgotten is heart breaking. I know that is the core of what makes GOG a becon of hope. So that we can get some 'Good Old Games' back into the spotlight. While I could just pop a disc in and play the game offline, the multiplayer component of Quake Wars is what desperately needs a revival.
