Unfortunately, .hack is the unloved middle child of Bandai Namco stuck between Digimon and SAO. The Sequel games from the "second season" of the .hack series were already remade, so it's only right to make these historic gems accessible...especially since the 25th Anniversary will be in a couple of years. I ask folks to please just give these games a chance.

This was one of the first rpgs I ever played, after pokemon. I fell in love with the world, the characters, the level grind, all of it. the .hack series has always had a special place in my heart and I've been dying to be able to play them updated for pc. In these uncertain times, this game would bring a real spark of joy to my life.

What appears to be a very basic RPG, .hack actually has quite an interesting concept and story. I played through this game alongside the anime series and it was quite an interesting experience. I believe the entire franchise needs to be preserved because of its cultural significance, rather than relying on fans keeping backups and sharing them in the grey areas of the web. I'd definitely buy it just for the convenience of not having to dig out the files from my archives, and so that others get to experience these stories too! Please let me give you my money!
.hack//IMOQ is probably my favourite set of PS2 games and one of my favourite franchises to this date. The old MMO aesthetic of the first four/five games is a relic of a bygone era of gaming, with oldstyle menus to flip through, different and elemental areas to test your strength, quests for rare items and volume exclusive companions, and loads of NPCs to both trade with. I would love to see this game be available on GOG 💙

It's such an immersive RPG and brings me back to the heyday of anime! All four parts are a piece to a huge puzzle in discovering the mysterious disappearances of players in an online RPG, which I like to title "Elder Scrolls gone Wrong". There are many towns and dungeons to explore alongside serene soundtracks of music. The bosses can be challenging like an actual MMORPG, with features to make you feel like an online user in the fictional game. Every game is like an episode of an anime that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Please GOG, many fans of this series have been waiting for these games to be resurrected, you guys are our last hope. Thank You

Phantasy Star Online but by a 90s anime allstar lineup: Character designs by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Nadia, Evangelion) & Written by Kazunori Ito (Patlabor, Ghost in the Shell). Delightfully 'of their time' games, replete with lashings of simulated computer desktops, message boards, emails and more. Far superior to the later entries in the .hack series.
A good chunk of my middle school free time was on this quadrilogy (sadly the GU one wasn't imported in Europe until Last Recode) but I still managed to follow the series and get a bunch of stuff related to this franchise. This series is very close to my heart and I would love if more people had the chance to try it.

I first discovered this franchise through a friend that showed me this new manga he got when we were 12, I then started watching the animes and fell in love with its world mystery and characters trying to find out what's going on in the mmorpg they play. You can really tell the love that was put into writing every piece and designing the game and the characters that make you fall in love. This would be a breath of fresh air for the franchise since the IMOQ trilogy seems to have been forgotten by their publishers. Also the relief and joy that would bring easy access to these games.
Grew up playing games with dual-up internet, so MMOs were a distant dream for a long time. But the .hack games were a wonderful simulation of what I’d been missing out on. The music is still stuck in my head!
Man this game was my life please make it comeback i hate emulation and i honest to god want nothing more than simply drop U$70 and have the 4 games on a switch or something! Anything! Please! Even steam will do!
Those games also need your vote!

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Fable: The Lost Chapters
Fable: The Lost ChaptersFable was expanded and rereleased as Fable: The Lost Chapters for Xbox and Windows PC platforms in September 2005. The game was later ported to Mac OS X by Robosoft Technologies and published by Feral Interactive on 31 March 2008. The Lost Chapters features all the content found in the original Fable, as well as additional new content such as new monsters, weapons, alignment based spells, items, armour, towns, buildings, and expressions, as well as the ability to give children objects. The story receives further augmentation in the form of nine new areas and sixteen additional quests. Characters such as Briar Rose and Scythe, who played only minor roles in the original game, are now given more importance and are included in certain main and side quests. Other character-based augmentations include the voice of the antagonist, Jack of Blades, sounding deeper, harsher and more demonic, and the ability to uncover (and resolve) the murder mystery of Lady Grey's sister. The updated edition of the game also applied fixes for certain glitches, such as the "dig glitch," in which the protagonist would move backward each time he used the shovel, pushing him through solid objects and sometimes trapping him.

Lost Odyssey
Lost OdysseyLost Odyssey is set in a world in which a "Magic-Industrial Revolution" is taking place. While magic energy existed in all living creatures beforehand, it suddenly became far more powerful thirty years before the beginning of the game. Because of this, it has affected society greatly, with devices called "Magic Engines" harnessing this power for lighting, automobiles, communication, and robots, among other uses. While previously only a select few could wield magic, many magicians gained the ability. However, such progress has also caused two nations to develop new and more powerful weapons of mass destruction. The kingdom of Gohtza and the Republic of Uhra (which recently converted from a monarchy). Uhra is building Grand Staff, a gigantic magic engine, while the heavily industrialized Gohtza actively pursues magic research of their own. A third nation, the Free Ocean State of Numara, remains isolated and neutral, though it is falling into disarray due to a general attempting to stage a coup d'etat. Uhra, at war with Khent, a nation of beastmen, sends its forces to the Highlands of Wohl for a decisive battle at the start of the game.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta
God of War: Ghost of Sparta"Marking Kratos' second foray into portable gaming, God of War: Ghost of Sparta stands as a spin-off nestled between the events of God of War and God of War II. Despite ascending to the title of the god of war, Kratos remains haunted by nightmarish visions. One such vision compels him to embark on a new journey when he witnesses his mother, Callisto, imprisoned in Atlantis under the dominion of the sea god Poseidon. Against Athena's counsel to ignore the vision, Kratos sets forth to unravel his past and, in the process, rescue his long-lost brother, Deimos, from the clutches of the god of death, Thanatos. This second instalment for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) maintains a gameplay style akin to its predecessor, introducing a handful of new mechanics. Kratos wields his trusty Blades of Athena in this quest, now augmented with a new magic known as Thera's Bane, amplifying the potency of his attacks. The game also introduces several new magical items and a fresh secondary weapon. In addition to the captivating story mode, Ghost of Sparta offers the "Temple of Zeus," a location where players can spend orbs acquired in the Battle Arena to acquire various art and other bonuses."

God of War: Ascension
God of War: AscensionGod of War: Ascension, the seventh instalment in the God of War series, acts as a prequel to the preceding games. The narrative revolves around Kratos, the protagonist from earlier instalments, who was once a loyal servant of the God of War, Ares. Tricked by Ares into unknowingly murdering his own family, Kratos breaks the blood oath binding him to Ares and abandons his former master. Subsequently, Kratos finds himself imprisoned and must navigate a path to freedom, severing the bond between him and Ares. The game retains the familiar hack-and-slash combat system of its predecessors, featuring Kratos wielding the Blades of Chaos. However, a new addition, the World Weapon system, allows Kratos to wield various weapons. Additionally, Kratos can now acquire up to four magical disciplines—Fires of Ares, Ice of Poseidon, Lightning of Zeus, and Soul of Hades—each bestowing unique abilities and imbuing his weapon with magic. For instance, the Ice of Poseidon enables underwater breathing. Rage, a recurring feature, undergoes modifications; it accumulates through attacks, and when the bar is full, it automatically unleashes until the player ceases attacking or sustains damage. Three new relics provide Kratos with the ability to manipulate time, create a "shadow" self, and dispel illusions crafted by his guardians. Notably, God of War: Ascension introduces online multiplayer to the series. Players, before engaging in multiplayer battles, align with one of four gods—Ares, Hades, Zeus, or Poseidon—each offering a distinct set of abilities. As players accumulate experience and level up their warriors, they unlock magical abilities, armour, weapons, relics, and other treasures. The game features four distinct multiplayer modes: Team Favor of the Gods, Match of Champions, Trial of the Gods, and Capture the Flag

God of War: Chains of Olympus
God of War: Chains of OlympusKratos makes his inaugural appearance on a portable gaming platform in the third instalment of the God of War series. Chains of Olympus serves as a prequel, unfolding its narrative a decade before the events in the original God of War. While retaining the familiar gameplay dynamics of its predecessors, subtle modifications enhance the overall experience. Kratos embarks on a journey through various levels, engaging in relentless combat against foes and formidable bosses, deciphering puzzles based on manipulating boxes, and participating in quick-time events. Throughout his odyssey, he amasses red orbs to fortify his weapons and abilities, secures Gorgon eyeballs to augment his health, and acquires Phoenix feathers to amplify his magical prowess. The game's controls underwent refinement to harmonize with the reduced button configuration of the PSP. Dodging, for instance, now necessitates the utilization of both shoulder buttons and the analogue stick. The iconic Blades of Chaos, synonymous with the God of War series, make a return, accompanied by an array of new weapons and magical spells such as the Sun Shield, Efreet spell, and Light of Dawn. The narrative unfolds as the Gods dispatch Kratos to the city of Attica, charging him with the defence against an encroaching Persian army. However, as Morpheus unleashes chaos, Kratos finds himself compelled to harness his formidable powers to once again rescue the world from impending doom.
