This is one of my all-time favorite games. The dev just rolled out the carrier update, and there may be two or three big updates left in the dev plan, but it's a solid game even now, as-is. I remember trying to get into the Homeworld series because I always loved the visual of truly 3D space battles, but I just couldn't get around Homeworld's UI. I like Nebulous's UI, and they also add in a high degree of realism in certain respects (the lead dev is in the US Navy and includes many realistic principles of naval warfare, such as EW or damage control). You can also customize everything (that's frankly an essential part of the game). It's got a great modding and multiplayer community, too.

Dr. Stiles career begins rather normally with a series of routine surgeries to get warmed up. Later though it's discovered that Dr. Stiles has the "healing touch", a rare ability he can use to slow down time to perform surgery faster while maintaining accuracy.
