This was the first and last time when all of the elements I was in love with came.together in a racing game. A catalog of real world parts that worked the way they would in real life, classic American cars from the 30s.to the 70s, and a.damage model that accurately reflected performance hits. The online play was secondary for me, but it did make for some incredibly fulfilling moments when my correctly balanced 71 Duster smoked six figure Corvette builds.

Played it back in 2001/2002 via my dads credit card in the Netherlands... Shortly after that that they gave it all up and after that they released nfs underground 1. (they experimented with the supra and eclipse, equipped with a v8 lol)

Need for Speed: Underground 2
Need for Speed: Underground 2Need For Speed Underground 2 takes place in Bayview after the events of Need for Speed: Underground. The prologue begins with the player driving in a Nissan Skyline R34 in Olympic City (though the racing scenes are actually in Bayview), the setting of NFS:UG. He then receives a race challenge from a rather ominous personality who offers him a spot on his crew, but "won't take 'no' for an answer." The player races off — despite Samantha's warnings — only to be ambushed by a mysterious driver in a rage that totals his Skyline. The driver, who has a unique scythe tattoo, makes a call confirming the accident, and the flashback fades out.

The Dukes of Hazzard
The Dukes of HazzardDriving around in the car known as the "General Lee", you must avoid all sorts of obstacles in an attempt to catch up to Jeremiah Stinge. Beware though as Boss Hog and his police force are trying to chase you. The Duke boys are as usual on the side of right in this scenario and it's Jeremiah who has orchestrated things to put them on the wrong side of the law. The gameplay is a top-down view of your vehicle heading down a path vertically across the screen. Also on the screen is your speedometer, a bonus timer (faster times mean more points!) and a gear shift. The General Lee itself has gears 1 through 4 and higher gears mean MORE SPEED. As for obstacles, the path ahead of you is full of hills and oil slicks making it difficult to catch up to (and pass) your prey.

A Japan-only rebooted sequel was also released in 2010, 14 years after Winding Heat.
