The "not-right" folks at Singletrac are at it again with Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012, the "spiritual successor" to Twisted Metal 2. In it, you chose one of 16 wacky, down-right sick "automercenaries" and compete with your enemies to pick up the tourists and take them to photo-ops. An underrated classic by the developers of the original two Twisted Metal games with a killer ska soundtrack (This was released in '98 after all), wild comic book like characters, and you get to play as either a murderous butcher in a weiner mobile or a Elvis impersonator!
This game for me has always had a certain mystique about it. The weird post apocalyptic world and characters, the reason as to why the competition is held.. The game had a lot of potential to compete with the likes of twisted metal. I personally love the wacky and creepy aesthetic of it I would love for this game to make it on GOG and moreover would even love for the series to be revived.. we need more vehicular combat games that aren't just sci-fi and futuristic but unique and tasteful; This game was insanely fun for me and my friends, good times.
Silhouette MirageFollowing genetic experiments conducted by a group of scientists at the turn of the millennium, a biological explosion contaminated the genetic structure of life on Earth. Two attributes emerged from the ruins, known as Silhouette and Mirage; like Yin and Yang, they cannot exist without each other, but are fundamentally opposed in their nature and ideology. Only a Messenger, one who contains both attributes in a balance, is able to get to the Edo facility and reverse back the genetic disaster, destroying both Silhouette and Mirage. This messenger is a young girl named Shyna Nera Shyna.
Silhouette Mirage is a side-scrolling action game. The basic gameplay is somewhat similar to that of Gunstar Heroes. The game's standout feature is the concept of the two attributes. Depending on the enemy's attributes and the type of attack used by Shyna, damage can be increased, and spirit (equivalent to magic power) can be absorbed from enemies. Shyna can dash, jump, crouch, slide, and grab enemies, executing combo attacks. It is also possible to master moves, acquire money, and purchase special creatures called "parasites", which teach Shyna various types of attacks.Action Comedy Science fiction
