The hard part was finding all the 108 characters for the best ending for the first game but the story of first game and your ability to upgrade your castle made this game memorable. The second game I never got to finish but I would rather buy these on GOG than steam when it releases in March.

You know how Pokemon is famous for needing to catch em all? This game is about recruiting every hidden character in the game. And there are a bunch. Loosely based on the classic chinese novel Water Margin, with the 108 spirits of Heaven and Earth who rebel against the corrupt government. Lovely story and gameplay and lots of secrets to uncover.
I once tried playing it on a ps1 emulator on pc. It worked fine, but i would much prefer have it normally like this instead. A legit way to play this game would be very cool. The collectathon path of the game remains very good, and the story too. I would love to see it come back.

I don't know how many hours (days) I spent on this game in front of my Playstation, looking for stars and replaying battles (to find the best tactics). For me it's still the best part (although I also played through II - V). It will therefore be a 100% purchase...let's see if it's on GoG (very unlikely) or the best gaming platform ever.

I got this cross plat for all consoles and psn and steam. Gog do you want me $$$$$? Put it up so I can buy it here also and support Konami. I want Suikoden III, IV, V, and Tactic. Hell Star Leap also.
These are two of my favorites JRPGs of all time. Prior to this release, the originals were stuck on obsolete PS digital storefronts or you had to pay a ridiculously high price for the originals (or Japanese only PSP port). If this collection comes to GOG, the gaming community at large will have access to these titles DRM free, meaning future generations will be able to enjoy these excellent titles without the fear of them being lost forever. These are games an important part of video game history .
Suikoden was the game that opened the door to a whole new world for me. It wasn’t just my first RPG—it ignited my passion for JRPGs and changed how I view both gaming and storytelling. Before Suikoden, I had no idea how deep and immersive video games could be. I’d played other genres, but nothing had captivated me like this. The intricate political plots, the power struggles, and the compelling characters with their own fears, dreams, and motivations drew me into a world that felt alive. What hit me hardest was the concept of the 108 Stars of Destiny. The idea of recruiting a diverse group of heroes, each with their own unique backstory, gave me a sense of ownership over the narrative. It wasn’t just about controlling a few characters; it was about building a team and forming emotional bonds with them. Every choice mattered, making Suikoden feel like a living, breathing world. The turn-based combat also left a lasting impact. It was strategic but never overwhelming—each move carefully planned. As I recruited more Stars of Destiny, I realized that battles weren’t just about winning; they were about teamwork and understanding how different strengths complemented each other. Suikoden also opened my eyes to the power of interactive storytelling. The decisions I made in the game shaped the world around me, and that sense of agency was thrilling. Since then, it’s been my gateway to other JRPGs, from Final Fantasy to Chrono Trigger. These games built on what Suikoden taught me about depth, character, and emotional storytelling. Looking back, Suikoden shaped the gamer I am today. It wasn’t just entertainment—it expanded my horizons and changed how I experience stories, both in games and in life.
I think what made this game compelling for me was that people you actually befriend and genuinely like could either wind up fighting against you and/or die, and often tragically so. To see how such tragedies affect the other members of your party (such as your sister, Nanami in Suikoden II). These games will provide you with political intrigue, fantasy adventure, mystery, and general wonder. Its a really interesting and ambitious package for such a game, but it provides all of this surprisingly well. The two games had really such good stories bolstered by amazing artwork and music (especially by the second game). These games are very near and dear to my heart and definitely earned the title of being one of the greatest JRPGs of their time. These games should be cherished and honored. Its a must have for any JRPG collection.
i recently finished suikoden 1 and my experience with that game on this collection was so memorable and i had a great blast with this game, as of me publishing this comment i have not yet played suikoden 2 yet, i would love to see Suikoden 1&2 HD Remaster on GOG someday.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar
Hegemony Rome: The Rise of CaesarHegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar takes you to the plains and forests of ancient Gaul where the proconsul Julius Caesar wages a decade long war to subjugate the barbarian hordes. Sequel to the critically acclaimed Hegemony Gold, Hegemony Rome will immerse you in the history like no other real time strategy game on the market, forcing you to pay close attention to the changing seasons and rapidly changing military situation. Unfolding across an epic satellite-accurate map stretching from the Mediterranean coast to the British Isles, Hegemony Rome utilizes the series' trademark zoom to seamlessly take you from a grand strategic view of your empire right down to the battlefield at any time. Explore an immersive new world from the dark forests of Germania across the mighty Rhine to the marshlands of the Seine. A larger scale map tests your tactics with more manoeuvring room on the battlefield and visualizes the details of ancient life with garrisons standing guard along the city walls and workers tending their crops in the fields. Capturing the ingenuity of Caesar and his engineers, all-new construction options and a new wood resource let you build bridges, forts and supply camps at thousands of points across the map. And a significantly expanded upgrade system gives you new options to promote officers, assign governors and construct buildings to specialize your units and cities. Plus, new improvements to Hegemony's celebrated logistics model makes managing your supplies more intuitive and more important than ever. Hegemony Rome brings the past to life as you manage your armies and manipulate your enemies in a beautifully drawn simulation of 1st century BC warfare. Bring all of Gaul under the rule of the Senate and People of Rome. Or, unite the Gallic tribes in the expanded sandbox mode and end the threat of Roman rule forever.
