CyberConnect2's first game, and a beloved hidden gem for the PS1. Some nice gameplay and great visuals, combined with how it's more or less a playable 90's anime in terms of tone. Worth bringing back for newer audiences. Also, Cyan. Gotta love Cyan.
Started with its spiritual successor Solatorobo on the Nintendo DS so I went back to this first entry and it's a shame that such a charming title is limited to the PS1. It's severely hard to acquire legitimately and I wish this passion project from CyberConnect2 would be preserved on PC
This may be a short game, but it’s a fun ride. The story is simple, but the characters are charming, and the voice acting is really good given the time it came out. I hope this can be seen and played by more people one day.
This game I must say that it would be amazing if people knew about it through a PC Port, I'm just saying. (I'm just commenting for the sake of it, and to say that thanks to this game I discovered a great franchise like LittleTailBronx)
Historical landmark of a game by newfound subsidiary of Bandai Namco ('Cyberconnect') pitched in 1996 to be marketed amongst the goldmine of 3D-Platforming games, finding its place alongside the likes of other PlayStation and Nintendo hits of the era. Unfortunately I suspect most know perfectly well in modern context how difficult and unpredictable of a market it was to even dream of entering and expect any amount of success from - console libraries at this point becoming so cluttered with what in denotable execution were a huge collection of the same 3D games being sold over and over again despite their fairly unique appearances. Granted, Tail Concerto does have its obviously potent flaws itching to be discovered, be it vaguely sluggish combat, slippery platforming and a narrative that whilst heart-breaking at moments and appearing fairly unique does lend itself a few eyebrow raises (especially upon the unfortunately painful decision of naming its main villain 'The Iron Giant'). Despite these nitpicks the astonishing first efforts of the later rebranded 'CyberConnect2' become increasingly clear - being as bold as to commission 20 minutes worth of remarkable studio-quality animation to be broadcast out of a console that at this point was already almost half a decade old, which can't be anything short of a miracle. This game perfectly exemplifies the extents to which CyberConnect2 will traverse just to fledge out and promote their titles that they know damn well only a small amount of individuals across the globe will be anticipating. But it doesn't matter about the size of a fanbase - they'll keep themselves afloat with whatever outsourced pre-existing IP games it takes, as long as it means the team can later focus their efforts on whatever Little Tail Bronx game comes next. Porting this game to pc would not only be preserving a game released in such an iconic yet inconsistent period in gaming history, but slightly fulfil the pricy demands for its availability.
Seriously, this franchise is so cool, it's a crime that this game (and Solatorobo) never received a re-release.
My friend and I were engrossed in this game for a month.
The gameplay is simple but fun. Yes, it is a bit hard to control, but it is far from being unplayable.
The soundtrack is great, especially the Japanese opening song, which is beautifully EPIC.
The game's graphics are so beautiful that my friend kept questioning whether it was really a PS1 game (although for me that reaction was a bit exaggerated). The visuals have aged well compared to other games on the console, especially the enemies, which are very expressive.
This is perhaps one of the first 3D platform games with a well-crafted story. Sometimes it even feels like an RPG. Everything told through well-directed cutscenes for the time, with some animated cutscenes as if it were an anime. Even the American dubbing is acceptable for a PS1 game (Megaman X4 cough cough).
Seriously, the world building and characters alone make this game deserve at least a remaster and an anime to go with it.
Seriously, it's really sad to see games as cool as those in this series being so niche even with the developer giving their all. Seriously, support this game.
CyberConnect2 deserves better for what they do for these games.

The game features an involved Magic system, which allows different spells to be created through the combination of runes. These spells can attack enemies, dispel illusions, and heal both the body and items.
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem also has a unique feature called Sanity. If an enemy sees a character, their Sanity meter drops. When Sanity gets low, hallucinations begin to plague the character. Walls bleed, voices whisper from nowhere, the camera gets disoriented. Sanity can be restored by dealing a finishing move on a dying enemy, or with spells or some items.Action Horror Survival

Maximo: Ghosts to GloryThe game is based in the Ghosts'n Goblins universe and features original character designs by Japanese illustrator Susumu Matsushita.
The character is controlled by the player and can move freely within areas by running, jumping, crouching, and performing other various motions. Gameplay revolves around defeating large numbers of enemies, which can be accomplished by attacking with a sword and shield and combos and special moves. Maximo fights wearing armor, if he is hit, he will lose corresponding pieces of armor and eventually be reduced to wearing his boxer shorts, with another hit resulting in him losing a life. Ape Escape 3Kei and Yumi take the lead as the new heroes. Their quest is to capture all 400 monkeys. You control either Kei or Yumi. The gameplay involves using various methods and weapons to catch them all. The game has many levels with different themes, such as a Haunted Castle, a Racing level, Jungle settings, TV studios and other settings. You can slow the animals down with various objects such as a stun club or a slingback shooter, and then you can capture them with a net.
New to the series are the morphing abilities, eight in all. You can morph into various characters, like a knight and perform a powerful attack or a gun fighter and shoot em up or a ninja and run along walls. You can also vehicles such as a race car to knock down the monkeys. Other features are the familiar Monkeypedia and the unlockable Mesal Gear Solid mini-game (a Metal Gear Solid spoof).Fantasy Comedy
Ape Escape 2Ape Escape 2 is the sequel to Ape Escape. In this platform game it's your goal to catch all the apes jumping, walking and flying around the diverse levels the game has to offer.
A large arsenal of gadgets can be used to make it all a little easier, with the catching net being the most important weapons of them all. Other gadgets include a RC Car, to drive over monkey's and collect objects, an Ape Radar, to detect the nearest monkey, a baseball bat, to hit monkeys unconscious, and a magnet, to move certain objects in the maps.
Your quest is to catch all monkeys in the levels and to stop the evil Specter from taking over the world. All monkeys in the levels are somewhat unique with their own character abilities and their unique name.
