The Prophecy (1992)

Story:This point and click adventure takes a fantasy setting in which the player acts as a wizard called Ween, deemed to be "good", taking on a less good one. To fulfill the titular prophecy the wizard has been given a limited time of three days during which he must go on a quest, solving various puzzles along the way, to be rewarded with three grains of sand, that he must place in an hourglass what eventually will result in killing an evil wizard. Objects around the levels are always detected by the cursor, making each screen and the challenges quick to comprehend.
Like the company's Gobliins Series, the interface is simplified, and the game has a heavier focus on self-sufficient puzzles than other traditional adventures. The game experiments with the toning of the graphics, using a faux-sepia style outside and some bright colours inside, which changes the atmosphere somewhat. As one of not many titles of those days, two times during the game, the player makes a choice of taking one of the paths which results in different puzzles to be solved.Show more

This game is special to me. The game mesmerized me in back in the day due to the great art-direction and amazing berlin school style synth midi soundtrack. Used to love watching my dad and brother play it, before ultimately playing it myself a couple of years later. The total package sparked my imagination and I look back on it fondly.

Deception IV: The Nightmare PrincessThe Nightmare Princess introduces the new character Valgyrie, who is able to set traps as well as directly attack enemies by kicking. The player can deal damage to an enemy by stomping on them after they have fallen to the ground, or kick them into traps.
Modes
The main feature of the game is called the Quest Mode, which features 100 new quests to complete. In it, the player plays as Valgyrie, and is able to obtain new traps and abilities.
The game will also include an option titled Deception Studio, which allows players to create their own characters, enemies, and missions. Parts for Deception Studio can be acquired by playing Quest Mode.Action Horror
Deception IV: Blood TiesDeception IV: Blood Ties follows the story of Laegrinna, an animated fragment of an imprisoned Devil's soul, as she battles her enemies by mischievously luring them into strategically placed traps. From rolling boulders and spiked walls to spring boards, iron maidens, human cannons, falling bathtubs and banana peels, the player can choose from a multitude of dramatic, sadistic, and comical traps in order to finish off an enemy.
However, simply setting traps is not enough, as they need to be activated in turn. Timing also plays an important role, as an untimely activation could result in Laegrinna falling into her own trap or allowing her rivals to catch her. Depending on the manner in which an enemy is killed or captured, the Devil's three servants - Veruza, Caelea and Lilia (each representing a different aspect of cruelty: Sadistic Torment, Elaborate Death and Humiliating Demise) - reward points and upgraded traps.Action Horror
