Hours and hours spent on this. Career mode, personalized pilots in your squadron. From what I recall good flight dynamics for the time and challenging. Love this game. Would buy it immediately from GOG even with newer pc titles out there.
Only got this one after it's sequel (SWOTL), but played it for long hours in the summer of 94, and after.
Despite not having a long career mode (the game depicts the battle of britain, after all), the campaign mode was quite good for the time. As the other two games from the trio (Battle Hawks 1942, Their Finest Hour and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe), I would say the one of the short falls is the lack of aerial collisions.
Back in 1990 i was in high school and was obsessed with this game, on the Amiga. It formed my interest in WW2 history, and then... broader history in general. As well as flight sims. I actually had a roster of pilots all based off my school class and when they died i kinda felt it!
