Why should Ghost Recon Wildlands be worthy of preservation? If you're still playing this game all these years after release, then you know. What was meant to be a reboot of the GR series inadvertently created one of the most unique open world games I've ever played. The thought was simple: combine a game that provided more tactical gameplay and throw it into a vast open world. Not only that, but make it so that you can effectively approach any mission in the game at any time, in nearly any possible way. *Not only that,* make it co-op; not only that, make it co-op in a way where any progress transferred back to all the players' saves. SO, what you have is a game that outright encourages you and your friends to just follow your bliss, do whichever missions seem interesting, blow things up, attack enemy bases, steal vehicles, track down intel and unlock new devices/weapons, unlock new cosmetics for your operator... There's just a lot to do. Just playing on one save casually solo and occasionally with friends, I've been playing for years. There's just so much to do, and the world, while feeling incredibly diverse and handcrafted all the way through, is large enough that it would likely take you hours to traverse on foot. It's just a unique game. Not perfect by any means, but so unique in that Dragon Age: Origins kind of way, where it just went all-in on a particular concept in a way that not even the same studio can ever hope to replicate it ever again.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands (and its successor Ghost Recon: Breakpoint) had a lot of technical issues on release and suffered from drastic changes of scope over the three years post-release. Despite the myriad of problems, this is the most immersive and compelling game I have ever played. Players are tasked with conducting an insurgency against a Mexican drug cartel that has taken over Bolivia. There is complete freedom to conduct missions in any manner and any order the player wants. The open world is based on a detailed and accurate representation of parts of Bolivia. The writing and voice acting are superb, and the violent but nuanced portrayal of the drug world feels authentic. Best of all, there are dynamic interactions between the player's squad, the Mexican cartel, the Bolivian military, and the communist rebels you are using to destabilize the area. I've lost count of how many times a mission has gone bad, and my squad had to improvise alternate ways out of a hotly contested battleground, hop vehicles, snatch guns off downed enemies, and generally survive the chaos. If you've played for any time, you'll know this game is a vibe. My dream would be for Ubisoft to release this game, with all the DLC and extras, DRM-free on GOG. Lately, their financial situation may get bad enough that they'll have to.
I think this is one of the best 3rd person tactical shooter out there. I highly reccomend it to every one who (like my self...) is sick and tyred of 1st person games. Maybe the graphic, the game mechanics, and the customization options are not great, especially compared with his successor Breakpoint, but the game world is alive and fun.

Final Fantasy V
Final Fantasy VFinal Fantasy V is a fantasy role-playing video game developed and published by Square in 1992 as a part of the Final Fantasy series. The game first appeared only in Japan on Nintendo's Super Famicom (known internationally as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System). It has been ported with minor differences to Sony's PlayStation and Nintendo's Game Boy Advance. An original video animation produced in 1994 called FINAL FANTASY: Legend of the Crystals serves as a sequel to the events depicted in the game. It was released for the PlayStation Network on April 6, 2011, in Japan. An enhanced port of the game, with new high-resolution graphics and a touch-based interface, was released for iPhone and iPad on March 28, 2013, and for Android on September 25, 2013. FINAL FANTASY V has been praised for the freedom of customization that the player has over the characters, achieved through the greatly expanded Job System. Despite being released only in Japan, the Super Famicom version sold more than two million copies. The PlayStation version has earned "Greatest Hits" status, selling more than 350,000 copies.

The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age
The Lord of the Rings: The Third AgeThe Lord of the Rings:The Third Age introduces entirely new characters which aren't mentioned in the books or movies. The game does relate to the movies by including scenes from all three movies, with new background speech by Ian McKellen (Gandalf). There are seven playable characters in the game which have been created specifically for it, as well a small appearances by characters such as Gandalf, Aragorn, Eowyn, Faramir, and Gothmog. The game covers events in all three movies/books, mostly with references to major events shown through cut scenes, or the scenes from the movies with Ian McKellan's narration. A classic RPG game, The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age has gameplay elements similar to Final Fantasy, where you have a party of characters, each with a different set of skills and attributes, who gain levels, making them stronger as the game progresses. Battles are turn-based, and let the gamer make different decisions on what they want to do to change the outcome of the battle. The game travels through many areas throughout Tolkien's Middle Earth, including The Pelennor Fields and Moria.
