Back when I was a kid, my computer wasn't exactly top of the line. It struggled with most modern games, but one day, I discovered TrackMania. Unlike other racing games, it wasn’t about realistic physics or licensed cars—it was about pure, unfiltered fun. I remember spending hours trying to perfect my jumps, shaving milliseconds off my lap times, and laughing at the ridiculous tracks people built. The simple graphics and smooth gameplay made it accessible, even on my aging PC. But what truly made it special was the track editor. I spent entire afternoons creating insane loops, impossible jumps, and rollercoaster-like roads, just to see if I could complete them. There was no pressure—no grinding, no unlocking cars, no customization. Just me, my creativity, and the challenge of beating my own times. TrackMania wasn’t just a game; it was a playground, and for a kid with an old PC, it was the perfect escape. TrackMania was not just a racing and puzzle game, it was a sandbox game. Even today, I smile whenever I see its name. It reminds me of a time when gaming was all about fun, creativity, and the simple joy of speed. TrackMania deserves a DRM-free release so more people can enjoy it without issues. StarForce could be a concern, but if GOG can make it work, it would be amazing to see this classic available again!

The best multiplayer game I played. The concept of a racing game where you can't hit opponent car make it unique and had a very positive effect on the community: you can't have grudges against other player because you lose, it's all about your driving; but still a competitive game. Awesome concept IMO.
While we have TrackMania United/Nations Forever, which is better in almost every way, it's still a decent classic and also has the feel that the newer game doesn't really match. Unfortunately, this game has the notorious StarForce DRM built in. It would be nice to see the beginning of the TrackMania series again here in GoG!

Dead or Alive 2
Dead or Alive 2Dead or Alive 2 is a fighting game in the Dead or Alive series. The gameplay of DOA2, and all subsequent Dead or Alive games, borrows heavily from the Virtua Fighter series, but makes some key changes that drastically changes the way Dead or Alive is played in comparison to Virtua Fighter. In DOA2, the basis of the entire fighting system is the circular relationship between three types of moves: blows, throws, and holds. The other defining feature of DOA2, aside from blows/throws/holds, is its stun system. In DOA2 many attacks upon hitting will inflict a stun on the opponent. While stunned, the opponent cannot attack, and cannot guard, but they can hold. If the attacker lands a non-knockdown, non-launching attack while the opponent is stunned, the opponent will be re-stunned in a new way, depending on what attack was landed. A major difference between DOA2 and other fighters was in the safety and non-punishability of attacks, both upon hitting and upon being blocked. Most blows in DOA2 can be punished on hit and block by each character's faster throws, making blow-based offense very risky. In addition to the normal rules of juggling, each character also fits into a specific weight category, which affects how the character responds to being launched and being juggled. In DOA2, fights can occur on either water or ice; when a character is on such a surface, all non-knockdown, non-launching attacks will induce a stun on any successful hit. Walls and falls in the middle of stages are everywhere in the game. Many stages are also multi-tiered: to get to other areas of the stage, one character must be knocked off a ledge and fall into the next area. These falls deal usually fairly high damage, but cannot knock the opponent out. Other notable features included introducing CG cutscenes in line with the plot, replacing the original "Danger Zone" areas in stages with fully interactive ones, allowing players to juggle each other into walls, propelling characters from landmarks for more damage.

Need for Speed: Underground 2
Need for Speed: Underground 2Need For Speed Underground 2 takes place in Bayview after the events of Need for Speed: Underground. The prologue begins with the player driving in a Nissan Skyline R34 in Olympic City (though the racing scenes are actually in Bayview), the setting of NFS:UG. He then receives a race challenge from a rather ominous personality who offers him a spot on his crew, but "won't take 'no' for an answer." The player races off — despite Samantha's warnings — only to be ambushed by a mysterious driver in a rage that totals his Skyline. The driver, who has a unique scythe tattoo, makes a call confirming the accident, and the flashback fades out.

The Legend of Kage
The Legend of KageThe Legend of Kage is a 1985 arcade game by Taito and was released for several contemporary video game home systems in 1986. The player is armed with a kodachi shortsword and an unlimited amount of shuriken. Grabbing a crystal ball causes the player character's Kage's clothes to change to the next level in colour and thereby attain certain powers (bigger shuriken and/or faster speed); if Kage is hit while in green or orange clothes, he does not die but revert to his normal red clothes. Grabbing a scroll causes Kage to stand still and meditate for several seconds while approaching enemies drop to the ground dead (although the scrolls appear in the arcade version, the crystal balls do not). This MSX version was brought without a license to the SG-1000 in Taiwan.
