I'm not usually the biggest fan of Farming Sims, having enjoyed the original Harvest Moon back on the SNES, and just about nothing since, but this one really drew me in. If you've been keeping up with the genre, there probably isn't all that much mechanically new to you here, but there's something captivating about it all, and I think the writing is a big part of that. I decided to court the mail carrier, and even though the romance is pretty simple from a mechanical standpoint, I felt compelled to bring my little wifey her favorite sandwich at work every day! It also does a pretty good job of addressing topics deeper than "How do I craft a tuna sandwich?" without getting too heavy-handed with anything, at least from what I played.
