Crosmando: There is a Linux version, Presto is selling DVD versions on their site, though because GOG doesn't yet fully support Linux it might take a while till it's added here.

Adoru: I've seen it, but I don't want to bother with post etc. and would prefer to download, so I just want to be sure, if I can buy the game here, install (via wine) and run it with ScummVM.
ScummVM has a Linux version, so you should be able to run the game fine without having to resort to Wine :)

There may be some fiddling involved with extracting files and what not but I don't think you'll have any problems :)

serpantino: Why does it cost twice as much as the others?
Because twice as much work went into getting it to work on modern systems, probably :)

Keep in mind that I am guessing off-hand on that :)

mqstout: This game coming now makes me really wonder where Daedalus Encounter is.
According to MobyGames, it was a Windows 3.1 game :(

Shadowcat: Uh, it's never looked like GOG has given up on the old games.

This reminds me of those dogs who see their owners go off to work each morning, and assume they're never coming back. Every day.

Johnmourby: I'm just observing the facts :) Every month at least one person (usually more) will complain that GOG has "Stopped caring about old games!" It was a point often raised in the DLC and regional pricing panics.
While I've never been that guy it has been a while since a classic turned up here (I don't count Risen as a classic. Only Pre-Half-Life 2 games) So even I was getting cornered. Time was there'd be two classic games per-week. It might not be practical want that back (Unreleased classics are only getting rarer) but doesn't make it any less desirable.
We haven't given up on old games :) Just remember there are a lot of hurdles to cross to get an older game here. Some of them are technical or legal in nature.

The legal part, surprisingly enough, has been shown to be the easiest part* (see System Shock 2, for example) whereas the technical part can prove to be insurmountable to the point of impossibility (see an Windows 3.x game ever working on a modern system without a licensed OS being used).

*sometimes.

Also, neither you or I know what's in that ebay link or whether the seller is honest. I don't know but I think I can trust MobyGames more :)

Johnmourby: Well that is a surprise. I've never objected to new games here on GOG. Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is one of my favourite games in my catalogue. Assuming you're allowed to talk about it do you have a favourite Indie game on the site?

But it takes little research to show that it's the Wing Commanders, The System Shocks and the endless speculation as to when Lucasarts games will finally arrive that get the folks 'round here really excited.

Good luck with your insurmountable tasks and thanks for always taking the time t get them working right (Unlike the rest of the games industry).
Well, I can't pick just ONE favorite indie game so I'll tell you some of my favorites :)

Sword of the Stars: The Pit
Ether One
Papers, Please
Primordia (well, all the Wadjet Games really but Primordia is my favorite amongst them.)
Rogue Legacy

As you can see, I can't have just one :)

Johnmourby: Note to self. Buy Ether One

I own Primoria and Sword of the Stars: The Pit. Papers Please sounds good but it sounds like something I'd want to play when I have a Lot of free time. Considering I still haven't played The Witcher (blasphemy, I know) that might never happen.
Actually, Papers, Please is easily playable in bite-sized chunks as you can save on any day of the story :)
