GOG Galaxy on Ubuntu/Linux
where linux?
Linux support pleaseeeee I'm begging
where linux support?
you need to add support for Linux!!! Come on!!!
I forced to buy 3 tittles again on Steam because GOG refuse to support Linux. No matter. As long GOG don't support Linux, no more money from me. Steam have bring new era of gaming, and millions of Linux users prefer to buy from Valve instead from other clients. Their fault ..not mine
I ask the following: Why isn't this a thing now that the Steam Deck has been out for some time?
Not to mention the huge advancements that Proton has made.
Also Mac support but not Linux?????? Who in this green earth is playing on Mac????????
we need this to be able to compete with steam and their anti-consumer model

+1 for Linux support. Windows keep dieing. Linux is forever! Even long after windows stops support for PC or laptop, Linux runs flawlessy on those machines. GOG needs to make an GREEN Statement!
Come on!
Same here. Microsoft getting more and more invasive with changes in win11 and service agreements for private users. Also left windows for ubuntu. Please add Linux support! I don't think its ideal i have to buy CDProject Red Games on Steam.

For some reason, Gog Galaxy won't run on Wine. I can play most of the games by downloading the installer and running with Wine, but Galaxy itself doesn't work. Fixing this would suffice to our needs.

I find that petition for GOG support on Linux! www.change.org/p/official-gog-com-support-heroic-games-launcher?redirect=false
Very dramatic, y5egrim. XD - I would simply like to see Galaxy on Linux because we need to have options. Yea, Windows crapped out on me recently, which is why I'm trying Ubuntu now, but it's such a fragile OS (I already broke it with little effort) and you need to do everything your damn self, which is much more of a nightmare in my experience. I've been on this for a short month and what a frickin' hassle! This coming from someone who has been dealing with PCs since the '90s. - That said, for keeping it simple and for just some games and whatnot, it's useful, and I can't understand that such a "open" (with things like the anti-DRM-stance and so forth) company is so closed to supporting Linux. - I've said it before, but they should take example of Valve in how they also support and encourage the use of what you prefer.
How can they be all about DOSbox and such (which, sure, is a necessity with a lot of older games), but then they don't bother with Linux?... Really weird. Even if I didn't intended to use it I would be baffled. - But, I will still be using Windows then... At least until 10 runs out of life-support, and don't care about 11 for at least another 2 years.
there is money in linux now thanks to valve and their push.
i play mainly on steam now, even repurchased many games there i had previously on gog. i'd love to also use gog again on linux.
is this some weird ideological justification nonsense that prevents gog to make us a proper client?
windows is behind me for life, like a bad memory. i wish for gog to avoid to become such a memory and stay in my gaming life.
why not?
GOG confirmed after 9 years of broken promises the Galaxy will never come to Linux: www.gamingonlinux.com/2022/07/gog-finally-remove-the-false-qin-progressq-note-about-gog-galaxy-for-linux/
I'm in the process of leaving Windows 11 behind on my gaming rig, and I'm looking to get my GOG library over to Linux. Let's do it!
I play lots of games on Ubuntu. Steam compatibility tool; proton, has let me play about ten blockbuster titles ( over the last 4-5yrs ), currently DayZ with mods, which took time. I only signed in today (here) to buy Soldier of Fortune (SOF), and had to google how to even put Gog. on Ubuntu and sadly found us begging you... :(. SOF you digitally rereleased in 2018. How can I play it on Ubuntu? I won't subsidize Melinda gates divorce. I choose the free-est software possible, for the rest of my life, but I will buy Soldier of Fortune, if I can play it on Gog. on Ubuntu, otherwise forget it. Also, I haven't gotten there yet, but my next google search is how to install Gog. on Ubuntu...? but by the tone of Icebergnyc, Aug 3, 2022. there is no way.

Stop Avoiding over 10 Million Linux Desktop Gamers, while 2 million of them are on Steam. Linux is mainly about being open and free in more ways than one, and it would look good if you strongly supported the communities wishes. The gesture would go a long way with you already offering DRM free media. We are strong and generous consumers. The Steam Deck is selling like hot cakes, and is based on Linux. Android although heavily modified is based on the linux kernel. Chrome OS is Linux. Web Os and Tizen are Linux. Microsoft runs it cloud on Linux. Google internally runs on Linux. Please get with the wave. Windows is heavily investing in Linux as we speak. People want to embrace the best tech on the most customizable systems.
Come on please!

I think that with win11 microsoft will again lose many users who will switch to Linux OS, so it would be time for the development team to consider creating the GOG client in Linux version (debian and more).

no linux client?
Please GOG. Just burnt all my bridges to Microsoft by removing Windows from all PCs at home as well as those to Steam where I will never buy a game again. You are my new favorite game store. May Microsoft and Steam rot in hell
As a Ubuntu user, It would be really awesome to have a Linux client.
Please

+1 Linux
Distribution agnostic would be the best way, but on the other hand, Valve did chose Arch Linux as basis for their upcoming SteamOS 3.0 generally because as a rolling release, it is always up to date and packed with latest kernels, software, libraries and drivers. Which is optimal since Wine/Proton development is rapidly advancing, compared to Ubuntu's stagnated release-model.
Ubuntu and its deriatives simply are not the best distribution for Linux gaming.

I think the plan has been scrapped for open-sourcing Gog, they said they "have no new plans to report on" they'll 'let us know if anything changes' ...That's the most I could get from support on an AGPL3/Linux GoG Galaxy
Not having Gog Galaxy on Linux is the only reason I still use Windows. Please I'm fed up with it, I'm only waiting for you! :D
Please build GOG GALAXY compatibility with Ubuntu Linux
+1 LINUX
yes would be great for downloads
