Skywalkerpl When gifting a game currently we have to know the e-mail address of a friend. Please, add a "gift to a friend" option so we could quickly and easily gift games to GOG members we have on our friends list.

Mortarah Why do we still need access to a person's email to gift them a game? Besides this being a great privacy risk, it's also very cumbersome. Starting to feel like GOG has no interest in their customers...
Merancapeman I won't use GOG now because of this. Not because I'm being stubborn, but because I literally can't. Not only that, until I spend money I can't gift it. How stupid is that?
Autumn_Able Holiday season of 2023, and this still isn't an option. That and the fact that it's so aggravating to even see friends' wishlists really make GoG the least social of the digital gaming platforms.

kneekoo By the way, at least regarding GDPR you should be more sensitive to people being unwilling to share someone's personal data (e-mail) without their consent. Gifting without sharing the e-mail address is important.
kneekoo I want this feature too. Asking your friends for their email ruins the surprise. On Steam you can not only gift games, but you can also schedule their delivery and even change the delivery date and time at any time later if you want/have to.
Colonel_Volkov That this is unavailable is completely excusable. I know it has prevented me from buying at least several games on GOG - so CDPR, if you don't plan on enabling this for some legal reasons, or something, please at least explain the reason? As of right now, it just looks stupid.
MrMelodyCold Today I tried to gift a friend a game but I found the only way is via email and the price went up because regional prices, we live a couple houses from each other but... I do not have the money to cover the region free charges, would be nice to have the option to directly gift a game to my friend so you can detect we are on the same area and have the price as I bought it and he can enjoy the game too!
Uilos Please let us gift people more freely without having to tell them in advance by asking for their email. I want to be able to buy people games straight from their wishlist, and to be able to also send games through their nickname here on GOG. You would sell a lot more games that way too so it would be a win/win :)

delphiusextempor Honestly. It would make more sense to have a gift code. That way, I can hand someone a greeting card with the code in it. I won't need their email. If they don't want the item or they already own it, they can pass it on.
##@@##@@ Gifting is a great option. I guess that a gifted person can even give a game back on 30 days guarantee if one does not like it, and I guess a game is somehow marked as gifted to avoid funny situations.

XBentus I agree with this. I wanted give a gift to friendly girl but I wanted make it as surprise gift. Unfortunatelly I was forced to ask her for email. Why is this necessary, if she has already account on GOG? In my opnion Gift option should look so: 1. We buy a gift, 2. We indicate to who (GOG account from friends list) 3. To this accout and email wchich is used by friend account is sent detailed information that they got received a gift and about necessary game activation data.

gogtrial34987 The key you receive is in no way tied to the email address, so as a workaround solution: fill in your own email address; send the received gift key to the friend through chat.

Khunvyel Inverydeed. I just wanted to gift something to someone and that person uses varying mail adresses for each platform, so there is no way for me of knowing which one it actually is. That takes away a little of the surprise.
Considering the gog system is aware of who has which games, it would be very easy to avoid duplicated orders this way.
Finnald Come on GOG, you should be on top of this by now. the only way to gift someone without knowing their email is to gift it to your own email and then send them the redeem code. this is way too many steps your making us take to spend money.

Inferno986return Hot damn GOG, I thought this was built-in as standard. I have bought games on Steam for friends in the past. Also you could implement multi-pack discounts for games designed with co-op in mind. :-)
juzcallmeneo I was just trying to buy a gift for a friend, and it took me a minute to realize that it's not a feature built in yet. At the very least, we should be able to select their name from the list and it sends to their email or a msg automatically..even if it doesn't just add to their games already.
Jeffry84 Absolutely a must-have feature. It's sad to ask to a friend what was the email address he or she uses on GOG, with the chance of ruining a surprise gift by doing so.
