GOG Galaxy for Linux
GOG Games can have Linux Support, the Store page shows if it does or not via the Penguin Icon
Odd that the Galaxy Client doesn't support it. Maybe if it was able to run Windows Only GOG Games through Wine or Valve's Proton if detected on the system
Let's pool our strengths and vote here: <a href="http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy/release_gog_galaxy_20_for_linux" class="light_un" target="_blank">www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy/release_gog_galaxy_20_for_linux</a>
This gets my vote, 100%. Years ago, I had a lenghtly discussion with GOG support, because not only they don't support Linux, but they completely hid download for GOG Galaxy when browser was detected to be on Linux. That's needs to change, it's 2024 year, Linux is growing more and more popular. Therefore here it is, my vote to get GOG Galaxy Client on Linux. Thanks.
Some day i hope.
I was really surprised when I first realized that GoG doesn't a Linux port of their launcher despite selling many Linux native games.
Right now, we can still use heroic launcher as an alternative but having an official GoG launcher would be nice.
+1
We can hope
it would make things a whole lot easier
This would be awesome!
Especially with the linux portable Steam Deck coming out soon, a linux client, especially for cloud sync savegames, would be amazing.
There's a client called Minigalaxy that supports Linux
Please please please. I do not want to install windows 11
I'm not on Linux yet, but I'm going there soon, so I want this.
please, release a linux GOG Galaxy client.
Please do something
I am playing GOG games on linux. I don't want my games in steam. I want a native GOG Galaxy version.
Let's be clear, I have no interest in GOG galaxy 2.0 as it is not Linux native. The best launcher for linux is actually Steam and the "add foreign games". And it's a bad launcher (but proton integration is a awesome feature!). I can only dream of a GOG Galaxy unified interface with Proton\Lutris features. Awesome !
Lutris is great (but personally I prefer GameHub). What we need is save synching functionality.
well, Lutris is already good too
It's exactly this that keeps me on Steam. Not a dime from me for GOG until we have at least a minimal native GOG client.
I redeemed a game that has frequent updates on GOG and boy do I regret it. Without a native updater, the GOG experience is tedious with manually downloading and installing patches weekly.
How many times the linux users will have to request a support for galaxy, galaxy who should be compiled since many years ago...
I would especially like to see GOG Galaxy 2 on Linux
The Snap version on Linux is really a bad Wine version. We need a native Linux version able to handle Linux programs as well as Windows programs with Wine similarly to PlayOnLinux!
