It was a weekend of September 1994. I went to my favorite mall to watch a movie (I can't remember which one). There was still some time before the next show and I noticed there was an arcade saloon right next to the theater. I was curious as which machines were there and took a peek. First game I noticed? Daytonaaaaaaaaa! Let's go away! I immediately fell in love. The graphics, the music, the sound effects, the gameplay, everything I had played so far became nearly obsolete in front Daytona USA. Ever since then, I made up any kind of excuse to visit the arcade so that I could see the game and try to play it, since it was the busiest and most played game for almost two years, even after new machines came and went. It was really that great and it's my all-time favorite arcade game.

A trip to the arcades weren't complete without hearing the Daytona cabinet. It was a classic, along with Sega Rally and House of the Dead, making it a staple of my childhood.
This among Sega Rally Championship really were the breakthrough for arcade racing with nice to look at 3D graphics to me. The music is also catchy and I even own the soundtrack on physical CDs. I personally only know the arcade version but know that the original Microsoft Windows release back then was quite authentic with many easter eggs, added extras and settings. I really would like to get my hands on a version that would run smoothly on modern setups without troubleshooting/compatibility issues. Please get the original and not the Championship Circuit Edition (latter using Sega Rally Championship's engine instead).
I remember when I was young and I went to chucky cheese and they had the deluxe cabinet and the music screaming DDAAYYYYTTTOOONNNAAAAAA. Ever since then I been in love with the game. I played it countless hours in the arcade and when I finally got a Sega Saturn, Daytona USA was my first game. This is the ultimate arcade racer, and with the best music soundtrack for a racing game, of all time.

Use a forward-launching "grenade" or a backward-dropping "bomber" to blow up and knock away rivals. Outmaneuver rivals in all eight heats to become the champion.

Gauntlet
GauntletThe players, up to four at once in the arcade version, select among four playable fantasy-based characters; Thor the Warrior, Merlin the Wizard, Thyra the Valkyrie, or Questor the Elf. Each character has his or her own unique strength and weaknesses. For example, the Warrior is strongest in hand-to-hand combat, the Wizard has the most powerful magic, the Valkyrie has the best armour and the Elf is the fastest in movement. Upon selecting a playable character, the gameplay is set within a series of top-down, third-person perspective mazes where the object is to find and touch the designated exit in every level. An assortment of special items can be located in each level that increase player's character's health, unlock doors, gain more points and magical potions that can destroy all of the enemies on screen. The enemies are an assortment of fantasy-based monsters, including ghosts, grunts, demons, lobbers, sorcerers and thieves. Each enters the level through specific generators, which can be destroyed. While there are no bosses in the game, the most dangerous enemy is "Death", who can not only drain a character's health, but is difficult to destroy. As the game progresses, higher levels of skill are needed to reach the exit, with success often depending on the willingness of the players to cooperate by sharing food and luring monsters into places where they can be engaged and slaughtered more conveniently. While contact with enemies reduces the player's health, it also slowly drains on its own, thus creating a time limit. When a character's health reaches zero, that character dies. The character can be revived in place with full health by spending a game credit (i.e. inserting a coin) within a certain short time window after it died. This allows even the least proficient players to keep playing indefinitely, if they are willing to keep inserting coins.

Basketball Nightmare
Basketball NightmareBasketball Nightmare is a basketball game where the player plays basketball against strange humanoid creatures on the court where the creature lives. The player must play and defeat each creature before moving onto a new place with a new harder opponent. The player starts of playing against Wolfs in the Forest and then, upon defeating that opponent, moves on to play Frogs at the Pond, One Eyed Aliens at the Waterfall, Vampires in the Skeleton Cave, Geishas in the Bamboo Forest, before finally playing against Samurais at the Shrine. If the player loses a match then that match can be replayed until won. The player at the start of each match gets to pick how long the match duration is out of the options of 15, 30, or 45 minutes (not in real time) before being placed on the court. When on the court the player always plays towards the right of the court. First the player tries to get the ball from a throw by a well timed button press. When the player has the ball the player has the option to move, pass the ball, and jump. When jumping the player can shoot, with the accuracy of the shot depending on the timing, or just simply pass. When defending the player can cycle through the field or just simply run into the opponent to challenge for the ball. There are a few penalties that the player can get including but not limited to Travelling (not passing after jumping), Charging (Sometimes called when the player with the ball runs into an opponent), and Pushing (Sometimes called when the player without the ball runs into an opponent) with all the penalties resulting with the other team getting the ball on the side of the court.
