Despite me only discovering this game less than a decade ago, I can see the polish this game has. It's a tough as nails PvE game where you and your buddies push through waves of cops to get what you want, wether it be diamonds, a panic room full of cash, printing plates for printing money or codes from a government employee to steal money from the IRS. The game's upgrade trees allows people to specialize at certain things like healing, speeding up objectives or spraying bullets. Not to mention the various interactions the crew has with the mastermind Bain is top-notch.
PAYDAY: The Heist is a cult classic cooperative first-person shooter that deserves preservation and a DRM-free release on GOG. Originally launched in 2011, it laid the foundation for the entire PAYDAY series, offering thrilling heist scenarios, teamwork-focused gameplay, and intense shootouts that felt straight out of a crime film. What sets PAYDAY: The Heist apart is its unique mission design, with each level playing out like a cinematic bank robbery, hostage situation, or jailbreak. Every mission has a different objective and often features random elements, keeping the experience fresh and replayable. Its emphasis on co-op teamwork, fast-paced action, and satisfying progression systems made it stand out in an era flooded with generic shooters. Releasing it on GOG would give a new generation of players the chance to experience this underrated gem, free of modern online DRM restrictions. It would also allow longtime fans to replay it easily on modern systems, supported with GOG’s compatibility tools and optional offline play. The game has historical significance in the evolution of co-op shooters and helped shape the popularity of titles like PAYDAY 2 and Left 4 Dead. Bringing PAYDAY: The Heist to GOG would not only preserve a key part of multiplayer FPS history, but also revive a community that still holds this game in high regard. It’s time this heist classic got the respect it deserves—with a proper home on GOG.

Story-wise, Mega Man has either disappeared or become unable to beat Dr. Wily, and it's up to past Robot Masters to save the day. While the basics function much the same way as traditional Mega Man games, each character has different attributes, from movement to attack patterns and even special abilities! The idea was novel enough to warrant further sequels, improving on the formula. MMDL2 in particular allows you to play as the conquered Robot Masters in subsequent stages, among other secrets.

Assault Heroes
Assault HeroesAssault Heroes is an arcade-style scrolling dual-joystick shooter where the player drives 4x4s or speedboats, sometimes moving around on-foot. Like most dual-joystick shooters, one stick controls the movement of the player while the right stick directs your gunfire. The objective of the game is to progress through each level, defeating enemies and huge bosses. Vehicle and player health slowly regenerate, while vehicles can be instantly repaired with a special pick-up item. Once your vehicle is destroyed, you run around on foot. You're limited to a weak machine gun, but get double points for destroyed enemies. Once you lose all your health, you lose a life. After about 10 seconds of being on foot, your vehicle respawns.
