It's been at almost 20 years since I've played this game, but I have fond memories of it. The game was often to difficult for 13 year old me, so I would regularly have to call my older brother for help. Having him give me tips, see him get past parts I couldn't, sitting together thinking about parts even he couldn't get past... Those are some fond memories and I would love the chance to see if I've gotten any better at it ;)

I have so many good memories about this game. This open world was pretty interesting by his way to navigate at the ship battle. A lot of content to discover and a good alternative story of PotC. And if I am remembering well, the game was pretty long and I never finished it when I was a kid. It's pretty complicated to find it anymore, especially in French:')

Damn, i remember wasting HOURS in this game when i was a kid. I had next to no english skills (Norwegian) so i had i had no idea what i was doing, but slowly i learned how to play the game, started to do pirate things....aaaah such good times. Would love to play it again since the disk i had this on is long gone in some dark corner at my parents place
Had this one on the original Xbox and played the hell out of it. I was never really good but had a great time sailing around and shooting people on islands. unfortunately my disc broke and getting new copies is a pain.

The ship combat at the time was great. My brother and i competed who would get better ships and sink more ships. Other than AC Black Flag, nothing came even close

I played this game because of the movie and I really liked it because I could get a better ship. Can't remember the storyline, but I remember when I took 3 loans from a loanshark (to get a better ship) and came back to pay, I only paid 1 loan and I didn't have to pay back the other ones because I was playing a pirated version of the game. And after I took a lot of loans and the biggest battleship I started to be an invulnerable predator. And it was sooo awesome. But I regret I didn't follow the storyline and didn't finish the game, that is why I want to play it again. I'm curious, the final boss is an NPC that looks like Geoffrey Rush? I was 13 years old when I played this game.
i just love it and want to play it so much I used to watch my dad playing this game and now i cant find it anywhere on any platform to buy, lets hope this game will rise again
The naval combat and controlling your own armada was an amazing feeling. The combat while simple felt fluid. I never got to beat this game as it was lost when I was young and I never was able to replace it but I've been trying to play it again for years.

I've been playing this game for hours and hours when I was 10-11 years old, many times with my friends. It was such a great adventure, finished it a couple of times and now I want to reignite this feelings as an adult.
I am one of the few (probably) lucky people who own the game (the 2 CDs), and this is why we should be able buy it again AND play it on modern OSes. The fact that more people miss it IS more than enough to bring it here... and in top form.
Those games also need your vote!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Parasite Eve II
Parasite Eve IIParasite Eve II is an action role-playing survival horror video game released exclusively for the PlayStation. The game was developed by Square and published in Japan in 1999 and in both North America and, unlike the previous game, in PAL regions in 2000. It is the sequel to Parasite Eve and the second game in the series of the same name. Parasite Eve II is set several years after the events in the original game. The protagonist from the first game, Aya Brea, also features in this game as the playable character. She becomes involved with another outbreak of Mitochondrial creatures. Gameplay diverges from the previous game: battles take place in real time and the area of action is less restrictive. The approach is more typical of traditional survival horror games, although some role-playing elements are retained.
