This game was pretty fun at the time, but it had one thing going against it and that was it released around the same time as Blur which was another racing game. They weren't the same but that didn't matter back then. So many gamers could only afford one game at a time back then and thus had to choose. So both games suffered sales because of it. This was an amazing premise though I would say was a bit lacking in the final product. Being able to cause accidents or change the map at times when certain vehicles are ahead of you or near you is awesome. But some times you kinda run out of the big spectacles and thus all you have left are just a few smaller ones you could reuse over and over again. It could also be a bit challenging if I remember correctly. But they don't really make games like these anymore. I don't care about realistic racing like so many are being pushed nowadays, I want to have fun and games like this, Blur, and the Burnout games delivered on that! Surprised this game is still available on places like steam, either the vehicles aren't licensed or they keep paying to renew said licenses for the vehicles. In either case surprised this isn't on gog as well at this point to.

The game hasn't been on sale on Steam for such a long time and keys on sale is very rare too. What's worst is that the Porting House team capped the game at 30FPS. Either CD Projekt Black/Porting House missed the deadlines after Disney shut down Black Rock and a lot of content is missing! Also the Steam version still has SecuROM DRM, yet it still cause some issues. I hope the team Porting House team still remember this game and polished it up a bit. Capped the Framerate to 120 if you wanna be safe.

Own the PS3 version of Split/Second. I seriously do not like how the game on PS3 runs at 30 fps. Would love to see a 60 fps 1080p version of this awesome game!

Easily one of the best arcade racers ever made. The setting of the game is a futuristic TV show, but nothing to really worry about. The one thing that matters is that in theory that's how you unlock things. Getting better, winning, unlocking because of whatever reason. The driving is very fun arcade like, without any weapons (thank God), but it does have a way to attack other drivers other than hitting them with your car. You gather a powerup system which depending on the level of it and certain setup pieces of each track, you can remotely "detonate" them and make changes to the track which in turn can damage the other drivers. From small things to huge changes to the track. The vehicles look amazing (design) and they are a joy to look at. The HUD while driving is very minimalistic and still manages to be completely informative. The framerate indeed is locked at 30fps which if you are of the people who complain when a game doesn't reach 120fps, will probably make you sick. Not that it isn't fast enough, but that you are a snowflake. Relax relax, I am kidding. You do get used to the 30fps cap, unless you don't want ot get used to it. Take that as you wish. 100% worth getting game. I have it for my PS3, PC through Steam and physical PC version. I would gladly buy it here too.
I absolutely love this game and I was so addicted to it back in the day until Disney stopped bringing out updates for it to fix any bugs and glitches and also stopped online play... but I can remember on my Playstation 3 I was on Split Second on a daily basis, soon as I came home from work I would make myself a brew and then I'd be straight on Split Second and I'd be on it for hours till I needed to go to bed for work next day, but I can remember I got so so good at the game that it was very very rare I lost in a race against other players online... But then a few years later Disney happened and they shut down the online servers and so on and even took the game off the Playstation Store, and yes I know you can get the game on Steam but it's a really really bad port and there's no online play and also the DLC cars and new tracks aren't with the game and it plays really badly on steam with lag and freezing issues. NOW what I would love to see is Split Second make a comeback with all the DLC cars and tracks and even have online play to cause HELL YEAH! I'd buy that game again and play it till the cows came home cause the great memories I had on that game with many of my online friends and we'd have such a great laugh to while playing... If only GOG or another company could get the rights off of Disney and bring the game back with online play and all the DLC cars and tracks I would love them forever!
Best racer of all time if the helicopter missions are removed. I played it on xbox 360, psp, pc, and the races are a thrill that never get old. I wish there was a spiritual sequel at least as good as it is.

Sonic Rivals 2
Sonic Rivals 2The Chao have disappeared and Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower immediately get on the case to find them. It turns out that Eggman Nega (once again masquerading as Doctor Eggman) has stolen the Chao and concealed them inside a haunted mansion. His plan is to feed them to an inter-dimensional beast called the "Ifrit" who needs to eat them to become invincible . After that, he plans to release the Ifrit into the world in order to destroy it. However, to open the portal to the Ifrit's world, the seven Chaos Emeralds are required. Eggman Nega secretly hires Rouge the Bat to collect the Chaos Emeralds. The Master Emerald has also gone missing (again) and Knuckles the Echidna teams up with Rouge to find it. Meanwhile, Silver the Hedgehog has returned from a now ruined future caused by the Ifrit. In order to make a happier future, he searches for and steals the Chao that are left in order to hide them. Espio first thought that Silver was hiding Chao for a cause of evil, but Espio finds out that Silver was trying to save the world. Then, they work together to save the world. The real Dr. Eggman sends Metal Sonic to find Shadow, and tells him of Nega's plans. Nega has learned of the Ifrit by accessing Professor Gerald Robotnik's journals, and Shadow and Metal Sonic set out to retrieve the Chaos Emeralds before he does. Eggman uses Metal Sonic as a communication device to aid Shadow along the way. All of the teams meet up at the Mystic Haunt Zone where the portal to the Ifrit's world is. Despite Rouge only collecting six of the Emeralds, the portal opens anyway and Nega dispatches his newly copy of Metal Sonic, Metal Sonic 3.0 to awaken the Ifrit. Despite possessing the minds of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Rouge (depending on who the player plays as), the Ifrit is defeated by the other teams. Shadow and Metal Sonic defeat the Ifrit and close the portal but they and Eggman Nega are trapped in the Ifrit's dimension. However, Metal Sonic tears his chassis open, revealing the 7th Chaos Emerald. Shadow uses the Emerald to teleport back with Metal Sonic. Nega is left trapped under some rubble. Sonic and Tails save all the Chao and bring them to a Chao Garden and relax there while Knuckles finds the Master Emerald in the Emerald Detector that he and Rouge stole from Eggman Nega. Rouge steals the Master Emerald and runs, and Silver returns to what he hopes is a happy future. Espio has to answer to Vector the Crocodile who has spent their client's advanced payment on late rental fees.

The Games: Winter Edition
The Games: Winter EditionThe Games - Winter Edition is the follower of Winter Games. Epyx has chosen a new selection of events. Some events were already available in Winter Games, while others are new in The Games. Together with the Winter Games is The Games a nice collection of Olympic disciplines. As it was common with sports games of that time, there are some disciplines that call on the player to destroy the joystick by jolting it too much. The game is designed for up to 8 players. The players receive points for successfully ending a discipline. For each gold medal you get 5 points, for each silver medal 3 points and one point for each bronze medal. The player with the most points wins the game. Epyx has secured a license from the Olympic Commitee of the United States for The Games - Winter Edition and The Games - Summer Edition. The disciplines are partially divided into several sections in which the player has to do another action with the joystick.
